I was here last night to celebrate my first wedding anniversary with my husband and we treated ourselves to a hibachi dinner. Let me start with the wait time as it was none and we were swiftly seated to our table, the atmosphere is also nice and the best part about the experience was our Chef Happi - he truly was an amazing chef to have with beautiful skills to entertain his guest and such vast knowledge about food and might I add different languages he speaks , so chef Happi made us so Happy with his expertise!! Now coming to what we felt the worst and really spoiled our evening furthermore our special occasion, as soon as the chef left and we got to our food it was 45 minutes till the restaurant closes so we knew we had to hurry as we had good amount of food for two so we were at it and within five minutes of chef leaving the server came with to-go boxes which I really felt disrespectful as if he had waited we would have asked for it in 15 minutes anyway, so just to be considerate my husband and I packed our entire freshly cooked food as we wanted to have dessert and thus we ordered that but as soon as we started with that the cleaning staff began to clean our grill with the water-drenched rag that might I add was splashing dirty water on our table so we on our own accord decided to switch tables because at this point we were not happy since we didn’t feel valued and taken care of as no server came to ask us to switch out of the decency for their customers!!! So we ushered ourselves to a different table and finished our cake slice! But we felt disrespected and definitely rushed! So if you are planning to go to this place just be mindful if you intend to dine-in and it’s close to their within an hour of closing window they might as well serve you food in their to-go boxes that’s how unpleasant they make you feel that way if you choose to dine-in! Food wise: We chose teppanyaki chicken and steak which comes with onion soup , house salad, shrimp and rice , it was all cooked and well made! The sushi roll it was shaggy roll ( their best seller) was alright but mudslide cake was amazing If they had not rushed us out we would’ve enjoyed our first wedding anniversary...
Read moreI really wanted to enjoy this place but everything went wrong- We arrived and asked about wait time for hibachi. We were immediately told to sit down and wait, so we did. 10 mins later, the manager walked up to tell others no wait times so I asked again and they said oh, no wait follow us?!
Waiter took order immediately, brought salad and soup, and then disappeared until checks were ready. The order was wrong for both husband and myself and I ended meal with nothing to drink. Also, my husband had to ask for silverware and napkins since no one noticed his seat had neither. Other tables arrived after we ordered and their chefs came out first. We waited 45 mins before a chef was ready to start. The grill BEFORE our chef started was dirty and had leftover rice all around the edges. He didn't bother to clean it before he started cooking, dumping our rice on top of it.
Our Chef let my raw scallops touch the raw chicken so I couldn't eat them (and he should have thrown them out, but instead said nothing). Husband ordered steak and chicken but they didn't have enough chicken for the table so he only gave my husband 4 pieces ($16.95 for 4 pieces of chicken?!). A total of $75+ for two people for bland food no customer service. Final touch, the women's restroom was absolutely disgusting with flies buzzing around and dirty stalls.
Between the grills not being properly cleaned and raw food cross- contamination being treated so causally, I'm surprised someone hasn't...
Read moreI tried to go in with no expectations and walked away a little disappointed. At first I noticed their sound system audio would cut in and out, which reminded me of an old portable CD-player with "anti-skip" technology. I started off with a Jameson and coke and I don't think they added a full 1oz of Jameson in the drink; or maybe the whisky was watered down. Someone right next to be ordered a crown and seven, and could also tell there was less than 1oz of crown, perhaps it was also watered down. I ordered the filet mignon and shrimp and was again again disappointed with the lack of flavor. The shrimp tasted very plain and basic, as did the fried rice. The cook did the usual 'rice toss' where you try to catch it with your mouth, amnd the uncooked rice the cook used to toss, tasted pretty similar to the finished Fried rice. Even after onions and soy sauce and whatever else they added to it. The steak was nicely cooked and had flavor though.
We also were celebrating a birthday. Most Hibachi places will serve a scoop of ice cream for someone cebrating their birthday, while Shogun gives you a nice scoop of whipped cream...seriously?
I won't be going back anytime soon. Don't spend your money here, instead try literally any other Hibachi place. You'll pay just as much but get a much more quality, better tasting food.
But the food was hot, temperature wise. I can't imagine this place...
