Parking is easy. There’s a parking lot just down the road, not even a block away. I love Fixe for their unique interior with luxurious chairs and splashes of Southern decor. We were waited on quickly and served like kings and queens. I loved how new silverware was brought for lunch after apps. It felt good to be served like this. Their ice tea presentation is fun to watch as not many cafes will present tea this way. I know of one coffee house that brews their teas this way and gives you fresh brewed loose tea. Delicious too! Glad to see Fixe does this as well. Instead of having separate pitchers for sweet and unsweet ice tea, they give you cane sugar simple syrup so you can sweeten it to your liking. Supburb. I’m always looking for the best biscuits and I can tell you that as someone who grew up in the Deep South and has had homemade biscuits everywhere, Fixe knows what they’re doing. $12 for three? Overpriced but I did like the whipped butter, jam, and honey. My dad ordered two servings and he’s an ex restaurant manager/restaurant cook/southern home cook and even he had nothing bad to say about them. Let’s fast forward to brunch. We all ordered the catfish, chicken fried steak, and pulled pork sandwich. My brother loved his sandwich and the baked beans were pretty good and thankfully not overly sweet. My dad’s ribeye chicken fried steak was only okay in that he got a lot of steak and parts of it had him sawing through it and I watched everything fall apart. The crust separated and he was left with a grey looking piece of meat. He tried to give me a piece and everything came apart. The meat had no seasoning. We ate the crust alone which tasted like your typical crust almost anywhere but the oil looked to have been over used. It definitely didn’t look like it was cooked in fresh oil. You could taste the burnt pieces in the oil from being used at least twice before. Nothing special in the flavor to set Fixe apart. His greens were terrible. It tasted like they only boiled them in salt water, drained and put them into a bowl. They really needed help. Nothing special and unappreciated as a regular Southern side dish. My catfish was placed in a small dish on top of “salt and pepper fries” which are barely even that. The fries weren’t great. Just sort of there and barely any pepper to be seen. The crust fell off the fish. I ate that alone as I did the steak. No taste. No salt. No corn meal flavor. Bland. Boring. The hush puppies were boring as well. They tasted just as bland which tells me they used the same batter for the fish. The sauce had to help everything along which is horrible. It should only be an addition to a meal, not have to carry all the flavor. They need to add their own flare to it. Their own Cajun seasoning maybe? Better cornmeal flavor perhaps? Why give us fish like this. I’ve had better catfish at hole in the wall joints where they give you bottled condiments you don’t need because the food holds itself. I had maybe a total of four fries and was done. They were room temperature and with hardly any salt and pepper. Batter those suckers and deep fry them for a crunch. The drinks are great though. Coffee martini was awesome and so was the Rickey. I’d recommend those any time to anyone. I’d still like to come back for brunch but order something different and come back again for dinner which was 5 stars. These two dishes though? Pass on these. Do not order. Someone needs to go back and either fix the recipe or see how their cooks are making it because it’s not great. Sadly, Father’s Day for my dad was mostly a miss. $6-$8 dishes at $12 and $36. We walked away saying, “At least the tea and biscuits were good”. Just take note of the deep Southerners commenting on what is expected in Southern food. This isn’t Southern food. This is more over-trying or lack of execution. I wish I didn’t have to say it but it could all be...

Let me say first, it's not about the money. My girlfriend loved her meal, and the waiter was great. If it's good I'll pay, if It's not I prefer not to. The only reason I didn't ask for my meal to be comped was because I didn't want to create a stink on our anniversary.
I'll get right into it.
Her catfish was really good, and the happy hour price of $8.00 was great, and I would have gladly paid $12-$15 for it. I ordered the Crawfish/Lobster Pot Pie. The first go around the waiter told me that they had burned it that I would need to wait. Still, not really a big deal, accidents happen. However, when I finally received my potpie, I felt like I was eating a Marie Calendar frozen version in size and flavor. We were told that the restaurant was southern/cajun type cuisine, but I tasted literally nothing but the raw ingredients in my dish. Not even salt, no cajun spice or seasoning, no buttery flavor, no umami. Just the basic raw ingredients. Lobster (barely), crawfish tail, celery, carrots, and crust. I also could not really find any lobster in my dish at all. Maybe 20 or so crawfish tails, but no lobster. It was just really bland and even a litter over cooked. I might have paid $8.00 for it, but there is no way on God's green earth that even the most liberal spender should be forking up $30.00 for this pot pie. I really hope that it was just my one time experience. I would like to give them another shot. The dessert was amazing, the biscuits are intoxicating, and the iced tea the best I've ever had....however, that still does not change the fact that my main course was just...barely "ok" bordering on abysmally bland. I hope to get some feed back from them as well, I noticed that it does not look like they...

One of the highlights of our meal was the deviled eggs. They were the best I've ever had, with a creamy and flavorful filling and a perfect balance of spices. They were a great start to our meal and set the tone for the rest of the experience.
