Frazier's is our newish neighborhood bar and we've been going regularly since they opened.
Cons: Frazier's drinks are not priced and a draft Miller Lite is either $5 or $6- it changes. I repeat- there is no available price list for drinks, not even beers on tap. Like, WHUT? They print out new menus almost weekly. Further, the bartenders aren't very forthcoming with drink prices when asked. They get "distracted" and shuffle off quickly once questioned. I'm still not sure what their prices are for my normal orders despite engaging with bartenders several times seeking prices. I point this out as a regular. I think it's fine to support a new local establishment with roots in Austin, as the owner has toes in other bars around Austin. But this lack of transparency really rubs me the wrong way. I've walked out of there after having 6 total beers (some draft and 1/2 not) and a basket of fried pickles (shared between two) for over $80. I kid you not. Once the check is dropped, the bartender (who already has your payment information), "disappears" into the far end of the bar. Or jets between customers ordering at the bar, completely ignoring you (even when it's not busy and they were hyper attentive while you were ordering). I always feel that tipping should base off minimum 20%, so I then have a moral conflict. I don't need that in my day.
Pros: Their food is usually pretty good. The wings and fries are hit and miss though (I think keeping someone well experienced on a fryer is A+, Frazier's scores a B- on average), the corndogs always fantastic (because CORNDOGS- though this varies a bit with the manning of fryer and no corndog is a bad corndog). The bar itself is comfortable and well laid out, very hipster-y with clientele to match. My girlfriend loves wings, so that's the main reason we visit so often. I think they beat Wingstop (haven't tried yet but my girlfriend hasn't been into that idea), which is just a block or two down Pleasant Valley- I'm not sure. But Frazier's has a bar. And I like to keep her happy (and I almost always pay the tab). So.
Just a heads up: if you don't want to experience that "gotcha" moment when you get the check, track well and ask prices for what you're ordering as you go. And have the corndog. You deserve it and know exactly how much it costs. We would go there much more often if there was any honesty and transparency, and decent pricing rather than something that comes across as a bully scheme to overcharge. Seriously- $6 for a Miller Lite draft, and food delivered in...
Read moreReally cool spot I discovered this with my best friends a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been coming here since until today.
I feel like I’ve had a very bad customer service and that I was singled out because of my skin color. I’ve never felt like this in Austin until now.
I went to the bar to close my tab and the bartender didn’t understand that and gave me a dos XX instead. I was confused so I said is that for me? She said I’ll have to charge you for it. I said fine that’s OK then she had nahfs me a receipt, I signed the receipt. I grab my beers and then I go outside and see with my friends. I already finished the beer and it’s been about 15 minutes. She comes out and grabs dos xx and throws it in the trash. she said you didn’t pay for that. You can just grab that you need to get out of here now I said well you charge me for it right? You said when I was trying to pay for my tab and you gave me a dos xx when you didn’t understand my request I asked you can I have that? Is that for me? You said I’ll have to charge you for it and then I said that’s fine. Then you gave me a receipt for my tab.
She grab my beer and she yells at me and my friends you need to get out of here. You can’t do that. You can’t just grab beers. I said I’m not trying to grab beers. you charge me for it ! so I took it.
Anyways, I really like this place until now because I know there is a troubled Burnette bartender with leg tattoos. Today is Monday, June 17 at Frazier. Everyone I met that was new in Austin and every friend I have. I will always talk to them about racers to go there and give it a shot it is a good experience and is a place that definitely expresses what Austin is until today for me. This experience. I don’t wanna come back here ever again and I will tell everyone not to come here because of your troubled brunette with leg tattoos bartender.
She could have handle that differently instead of making regular customer not...
Read moreI was a regular for years so let me tell you. The corn dogs and burgers you order are served in a kitchen that isn’t regulated. I am not the first to want to complain about the rat infestation they have in the back in this place. Not to mention the water issue they have. $2 coors will make anything taste good. Tommy has no spine when it comes to treatment about people. That’s why they treat the homeless like garbage when their patrons are egging them on and making them victims. They drink under the table all night and that’s why you have rude service. Bartenders are all drunk and thank Frank the bar manager for that. They harass and alienate anyone that isn’t wannabe hipster dive bar and calls them out. Thus the sign they can do what they want and kick anyone out. They over serve, over drink themselves, and deserve to be called on by TABC. Not to mention their prejudice with anyone that doesn’t look like them (anyone POC). They fired the past doormen metal mike because he actually did his job protecting people. This place is washed up and I can’t wait for it to get bought out like the condominium across from them. They also serve past 2am after hours to anyone they deem is cool. Good riddance to this wannabe dive bar. Bartenders who act like they’re trendy. You’re all just over grown hipsters. I was assaulted by Frank the bar manager too. They’ll probably try to delete this review also.
Bee was also under the influence of Xanax many times. Their door people also. They are a circus.
Many locals have left reviews and they’ve all been removed because the company has paid for it. So over...
