Freebirds World Burrito — Restaurant in Austin

Take out was horrible! Not the food, but the service! Waited for my food along side some other waiting for their online orders and possibly some Doordashers. There were 6 of us sitting and waiting. I had been waiting for probably 20 minutes at this point. They finished attending to the customers who came in and ordered food, but once they finished with them, they all seemed to have disappeared to the back or wherever. One of the Doordashers who had been there before I got there, walked up to the counter asking about his order. She said she was working on it but was swamped with a puzzled look on her face?! um maybe overwhelmed or just plain clueless was a better word as she looked like she didnt know where to start with all the orders. If you looked at their Online order section, there were tickets getting printed out but no one was there. How about address the problem and ask for help?! Probably within 5 minute of said Doordasher standing there waiting, the other employees stopped restocking or whatever they were doing over by their stations and engaged the Doordasher and started working on the online orders. Said doordasher finally got his order within another 5-7 minutes?! The rest of us finally started to get our orders but at this point, I've been waiting 30-40 minutes now past the time my food was promised to be ready. 3 employees were finally making orders but still took another 10 minutes before I was out the door with my food. I'll never go back. Where was the manager at this point?! Why couldn't she have asked for help earlier? Why didn't the employees address the 6 people just sitting there staring at them for their food? Online orders are customers too, why are we having to wait longer?! if I walked in, I would have had my food within 5 minutes. I...

This is DEFINITELY NOT A MEXICAN RESTAURANT. They serve California style burritos, which have rice within the filling. Cali-Mex is DEFINITELY NOT MEXICAN. It's like calling Taco Bell Mexican food, and Fazolis Italian food. NO!!! Same with TEX-MEX. It's NOT Mexican. Completely Different! If you told me a wrap was Mexican food, you'd also be lying!! This place is to Mexican food just as what a wrap is to taco or burrito. Mexican dishes altered to the tastes of Americans and then completely unrecognizeable from where they took their original idea from. It's like calling a hotdog a german bratwurst. No!!! No!!! No!!!

With that said, the best American style burrito you'll ever find at a chain... WAAAY BETTER THAN CHIPOTLE.

The worst thing about Freebirds, is their app. Complete and utter garbage! You'll get notifications about a special they have going, and it will say "app only," but then there is no discount code, and the special is not in the offers section. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!! I literally quit eating there because I feel like they do it on purpose just to scam you! You call customer service, and they tell you to leave a message and they will call you back, but they never call back. You call 20 times and completely waste your time, and go nowhere... and all you're left with is an even more hungry stomach.

I rarely leaving ratings as I completely understand the food industry working in it myself. I went to Freebirds and placed a mobile order for curbside pick up at 4:25pm. I gave them a few extra minutes just in case they needed that extra time as I know if busy sometimes orders are delayed. I called at 4:33pm for pickup. A guy answered said they would have someone bring it out toe. I waited until 4:52pm to go inside to see what was happening with my food. Maybe they were super busy so were still working on it, no worries again I understand. I walk inside to only 3 people in line and 1 was already being cashed out. I wait for someone to acknowledge me at the pickup area and when I finally w a and said my name they handed me my order. The lady was nice when she handed it to me of course no apology for the wait or for not bringing it out I check my food and it's cold. How is food wrapped in tinfoil cold unless it had been sitting there for 40 minutes that I waited for my food. I tried calling but no one answered. I do not have another hour for my food to be remade. This is very unfortunate as I usually like...
