"We make wings for people who know the difference: The difference between fresh and frozen; between hand crafted sauce recipes and something squeezed through an industrial tube; between layering on flavor instead of trying to cover it up. We use fresh breading on fresh chicken for a fresh, cooked-to-order meal. If you’re fine eating wings out of a cardboard boat, go for it – we think you deserve better. Give our wings a try. We’ve been developing our craft for over 20 years. If these aren’t the best wings you’ve ever had, let us know, because that’s what we’re trying to accomplish here at Pluckers."
This is what I've always come to expect from Pluckers, and what my experience has always been. So much so that I paid for the pluckers card, and I didnt regret that purchase.
The customer experience last night really has me questioning if I made the right choice.
I show up around 11pm, an hour before closing, with a craving for some delicious wings. I know it was late, but when you have urge for some of the best wings in Austin you have to follow it. Also, I've never been let down by this location so I had no reason to believe my experience would be anything but amazing.
We sit down order fried mushrooms, the app special blue cheese chips, a 32oz beer, and an order of 15 wings. The waitress seems some what attentive, and let's us know when our order arrives (around 11:30ish) that the blue cheese chips are going to take a little longer for some reason I cant recall. I ask for a water refill, and when it comes the cup is slammed down a little aggressively.
I only see her twice after the food comes. First out is the magic mushrooms, which was delicious. Then the wings, and finally the blue cheese chips. When I started to dig into the wings I found six out of the15 were left to long in the fryer. This made the chicken wings dry, blackened in parts, extra crispy, and well over done. Around 11:45-ish she shows up and I mention what I found with the meal. She mumbles about getting a manager and I wait till well past 12am. I eventually flag her down and ask if the manager was still coming over. To which she rolls her eyes and states "oh you still want them." Its now 12:15am and the "Manager" shows up with a slight attitude. She opens with "You wanted to see a manager." No introduction, no empathetic opening, just a cold intro. I mention the wings, and that everything else was delicious. She then states "Did you mention to server so we could correct it."
As if it's my fault the wings were over done, and I should have done what I could to make my experience better. Mind you it was 11:45ish pm and I wasnt going to make them drop another batch with the hope it turns out better.
I stated that I did and the manager never came over. I then said I'll pay for this food, but all I wanted to do was bring it to the attention of the manager so it can be addressed with the staff.
I didn't yell or get angry, but it made me feel as if I was bothering them for eating at the this location. So, in the abhorrent customer service and sheer lack of simple customer resolution I will not be bothering this location again.
She did offer me a $10 Gift card, but It wasnt about getting something in return. It was about the very statement that pluckers placed on their Google page. The very statement that I quoted at the very beginning of this way too long story. Thank you for...
Read moreFirst, we were from out of town, a party of five, and went between 6 and 7 pm. So I had the Honey BBQ Burger. I am told you can get anything anyway you want it here so I switched it to be on toast minus onions, waffle fries with ranch seasoning (should have went with the spicy ranch that the server, Ash, suggested but thought it might be spicy...its not), strawberry lemonade, and a side of ranch to dip with. Burger came out medium well just like I like it without me asking. It was so DELICIOUS! I should have stopped at half given I was full by then but it tasted so good I couldn't stop myself. Two of my co-workers had different kinds of wings. One had a side of spicy ranch tater tots which proved the spicy ranch wasn't that spicy. Another had a side of macaroni and cheese. We are sharers so I got to try their sides. Both were good. My coworkers said they loved that the wings were slightly crisp because they hate when the wings aren't since it's a sign they may not be cooked all the way through. Another coworker had the Bypass Burger. She loved it. Like me she ate too much. Be prepared for a LOT of jalapenos. She took half of them off. She had a side of sweet potato fries which may have been better hot. Seemed like they must have finished cooking first. Our server, Ash, was on point!! She checked on us regularly, came back timely with requests, topped us off with drinks as we waited for our meals, and let us know she had been sat with a large party towards the end of our meal in case she was delayed coming back to us. Great job Ash! The only tip I would suggest are to the hosts. After seeing the wait would be long, we opted to eat in the bar. We told a host to tell the hostess that took our number to take us off the list (the call you when your table is ready), we still received a call more than 30 minutes after to say our table was ready. Since we were a party of 5 hungry people eating after a conference, we would have probably left if we had to wait since we were only told 15-20 minutes. We were nearly done with our meal before...
Read moreI visited this location on Tuesday, 10/11/22 around 3:30 pm. I ordered a patty melt with no sides, the girl at the front talked me into taking apple slices. About 25 minutes later, she came out and told me there weren't any apple slices left, and would I like something else. I declined, and told her not to worry about it. She persisted, and started running through the available options and I said it was all right, no thank you. She started telling me if there was anything else I needed to let her know. I was in a bit of a hurry and had a feeling my order was being held up in the kitchen awaiting her input and she kept pushing herself on me, so I told her shoo, shoo and made little brushing motions with my hands. Moments later, I was confronted by the supervisor on duty, who proceeded to attack me for abusing her people. I told her all I said was shoo, shoo and make brushing motions and she continued to attack me, saying again that she can't allow anyone to abuse her people like that. I never said a single unkind word to that girl, never raised my voice one bit, and yet I was abusing this girl? I don't know what kind of customer relations you train your people for, but I have to say that in my 67 years that was without a doubt the shabbiest treatment I've ever had at ANY restaurant. When my order finally arrived, the supervisor practically threw it on the table. I almost threw my drink in her face, but decided to take the high road and just leave. I found my sandwich to be cold, skimpy, and barren. I'm not a local, so the odds of my being in the neighborhood again are slim to none. If I am, you can bet I won't be back and the entire incident has colored my opinion of the entire chain and it's very likely your company has lost a customer for good, and everyone I know knows about my misadventure. Your management can write back all the saccharine replies they want, it won't change a thing. I would give this place 0 stars if I could, but it...
