Two weeks ago now I went here for the third time in total and first time for breakfast, ever in my entire life. As for GC as a whole it's likely my 4th or 5th time including when I was a child. Point being GC is not necessarily my cup of tea, but I wanted to try their breakfast for the first time ever as an adult. Now I mentioned I've been here three times to this location. I will address the breakfast visit issues first since Google has prompted me to right a review for that visit specifically. Then I will address the issues and restaurant for all visits because it is unacceptable. Breakfast: my roommate and I had been wanting to try their breakfast, honestly it sounded good and I felt I'd get more for my money at breakfast than the last two times I went for lunch/dinner because the two times we went for lunch/dinner, it most certainly was not as I didn't even get a proper meal, I got dessert and snacks due to the poor quality of food. Either way, I we went to breakfast, we got there later than we had wanted, but still in time for breakfast. However due to the time I had questions before paying. I asked the cashier "due to it being so close to eleven, will we still have time to enjoy our breakfast" with the thought process as we have the better half of a half hour left to get breakfast and it takes maybe 10 min to load a couple plates, sit down and enjoy. I didn't want them to start putting out lunch while breakfast was still technically on, and I didn't want to waste our money if we weren't going to be able to enjoy breakfast. I think that is reasonable enough. I was trying to be proactive so we didn't run into problem, so I wasn't disappointed and feeling wasteful. The cashier said they will stop at 11a. Ok so that tells me up until 11a they will provide breakfast service as advertised and then stop and put out lunch. Perfection. So we paid. Tell me why I paid 13 dollars (cause I got water), for two small bowls of cereal, one inedible and extremely stale. And a child size, snack size peach yogurt. The woman making omelets for a line of at least 6-7 ppl, refused to put out more pancakes or waffles, even though they take significantly less time to cook than an omelet. That was extremely disappointing and I consider poor service since there are many helping hands to provide help to her as she made eggs. They would not have wasted the waffles or pancakes cause there were plenty of ppl in line to still pay for breakfast and many many families in the restaurant still eating and grabbing food. Not to mention they started putting out lunch early like I was worried about and left many old or empty breakfast warmers. Now I am not looking for extremely good food, I understand it's a buffet, but there is still a standard for buffet food. I am understanding that for big batch items that could end up going to waste they stop adding more maybe five minutes before breakfast ends but to stop so early and not allow everyone to enjoy breakfast services is wrong. Now to go to all three visits...every time I need help and I mean every single time I have a question, I am met with "no English, sorry" or flat out ignored. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! Two times yes only two times out of the 10-12 times I've had a question about something I have been met with kindness, good customer service and helped to find someone that could actually help me. Again this is not a restaurant I am super familiar with so questions do come up, mostly where can I find said item. That is not a difficult question to answer with guidance to the item or a helping pointed finger in the direction I need to go, none of that is worthy of being ignored or met with a rude demeanor due to a language barrier. I'm not asking difficult things. When I tried to address these issues with management; ignored. Food no matter the time of day is subpar at best and most goes to waste on a plate due to the taste/temp/quality being poor. I am running out of room or I'd...
Read moreWorst experience I've ever had at a Golden Corral. We usually go to the one in NB, which is always amazing. So we were shocked at the quality of the service and food. Dishes were dirty and wet. We had to wait 20 minutes just to get a drink we ordered. No one got refills at the table the whole time aside from 1 person. Poor server was doing his best as he had all of the large tables by himself. We stopped around 8pm to get food for a birthday on the way home because of the long wait times at other places. There were very few dishes that were even decent, but we tried to make the best of it because of how late it was, we were tired and hungry, and because we had already spent a good amount of money. The steak was terrible and tasted like a burnt grill with no flavor. The chicken on the salad bar tasted rotten/old as others have stated. The sweets were even bad minus the slushes and the gummy bears. The only dishes that were decent were the pizza, pot roast, mini shrimp, basic salad stuff, and bourbon chicken. We all left extremely disappointed, but were just going to leave it alone... until we all woke up this morning with upset stomach, diarrhea, and/or vomiting. Called to complain, and the manager was rude stating that they had served 1800 people and they could file an insurance claim, but that food poisoning takes 24 hours to manifest, which is not true AT ALL. Especially for children or people with gastric diseases. Just because others haven't complained, does not mean it is just us. And considering the dishes are switched out multiple times throughout the day, it does not mean everyone the whole day would have experienced it. Could just be the bad food quality during a certain time and lack of sanitation. Who knows? May have been the time we went or something, but it was probably the worst place we have been in a very, very long time. I don't understand the ratings. We don't EVER complain, but this place was absolutely terrible. A refund would have sufficed, but considering the manner of the "manager", we decided that a review and complaint with corporate would do as we didn't want to argue with ignorant people or someone who was clearly not interested in righting the situation. We spent a lot of money, ate terrible food, and had terrible service. I guess that's just the nature of the beast dealing with businesses. I would avoid this place...
Read moreMy daughter and I arrived there around 3:00 yesterday and the food was cold and soggy. Mind you, I have a 7 year old who’s one of her fav places to go to is Golden Corral and unfortunately she was disappointed. When I told the waiter she was generous enough to call the manager withought me asking and he was super nice and antentive. He asked if he could get me new and fresh food, and when I came back with a new plate he came back and asked if everything was ok. Because of yesterday’s customer service, despite the food, I really wanted to come back. 30 minutes later my husband arrived. When I looked at the bank statements the following day I noticed he was charged 1 dollar less than what I paid with my daughter and drinks. I called back and another manager answered the phone. Since the beginning of the conversation he was talking over me and was not listening to what I was saying. I had to repeat myself several times. He later said that my husband was charged for a drink that he did not get! I told him that I was really annoyed with yesterday’s food and the fact that we had to go back there because my husband was charged extra. He answered with “ma’am, I’m only going to refund you (the drink amount, I don’t exactly remember the exact amount)” with an annoyed attitude. This gentleman was so rude!! And because of that we will NOT be returning. Like I said, the food was not very good yesterday and on top of that, the manager for today 2.23.19 at 9:12 AM had HORRIBLE customer service. For him to assume that the issue is only because of the money is rediculous. I did tell him he was being very rude and I did ask him when the manager from yesterday was going to be there, because I did not want to talk to him, and when he asked what their appearance was he did not wait for me to answer and immediately asked if they were Mexican or Black. I’m sorry but I think Golden Corral should have higher expectation on who they hire! If it wasn’t because of yesterday’s wonderful customer service I would be giving this place 1 star! I hope they really address the attitude of the...
