EDIT: I emailed the store owners of this location two weeks ago with a detailed complaint, and they haven't even so much as responded. Wow. And on top of that, they don't even respond to any of their Google comments. That should tell you how little the owners of this location must care about how they are doing.

I'm starting to get really annoyed with this location when it comes to ordering food. I've tried to order food from them on four separate occasions, and three out of four of those times I have been told they don't have that food item in stock. Especially this morning when I went to go order a breakfast burrito and a large latte, and they quite literally told me they have no breakfast food in stock because "they didn't get their food shipment yet". Are you freaking kidding me? These guys operate a business that caters mostly to the AM crew, and they can't even keep their food orders in stock? Maybe it's not fair to compare them to a larger chain like Starbucks, but any time I want to order food from Starbucks, It has been pretty exceedingly rare that they don't have a sandwich or food item in stock, whereas with this location it seems to happen just about every time I go over. I totally get if a restaurant has occasional moments where they are short on ingredients or whatnot, but this has happened so much to the point of being ridiculous.

I wish I could comment more about the quality of the food, since I've only been able to have it once. I had a turkey sandwich once and it was pretty good, but that's it.

The service has not been the best either. There have been a couple times where I've walked in and the baristas didn't even know I was there, they just continued working. After waiting at the counter for about 3 minutes while I was being ignored, I finally had to call out to them to see if they were going to serve me, and one of the baristas finally...

Joe's Coffee has become an Austin,TX classic

This particular location is new- right across the street from Crockett High School getting those future stat at home workers hooked

But seriously Joe's is pretty damn good- I get the iced Turbo on tap- it's a vanilla hazelnut type of situation

They don't have alot of House Drinks - but you can create something to your liking hopefully

The people that work there are nice and professional but not overly nice to the point of making your experience special

Pretty cut and dry

But some people may prefer that

I personally like customer service that feels geniune and happy- maybe even a Lil connection made or compliment

A Lil goes a long way with me

On another note you can pretty much skip the food- I appreciate yall having food- but tacos in Austin,TX is a big conversation

I will be nice and say they are just very white tacos and a Lil pricy for the size- but if your in a hurry then they aren't bad

The only Joe's that has a fun environment is located on S. Congress mainly because it's open to the street- and also supports live music (so thank you for that Joes)

More coffee shops in Austin should support live music- I can only name maybe 4 coffee shops in Austin with live music which is kinda lame

Joe's coffee to me reminds me of coffee I would taste in my childhood- so has a bit of a nostalgic taste for me

Also bringing you that classic kinda Hortons Flav

You never have to wait in line very long at any location which is nice

Thumbs up to Joe's

I've had better but I've had much worse

7/10

Please...

The new Jo's is great! Today (5/1/23) was their soft opening but they were well prepared for all of the customers. The atmosphere was laid back with chill radio playing but not too loud. The coffee is great, with plenty of different coffee and milk options (but oat and alternative milk is extra). They have a standard coffee station with sweetners and creamers. Their specialty drink is the iced turbo which is a creamy sweet coffee with chocolate and hazelnut and it's great if you like sweet coffee. There are also non-coffee options. There is also breakfast and baked goods, lunch with salads, and snack boxes. The breakfast is tacos and burritos with vegetarian and vegan options. The lunch is tacos and sandwiches also with dietary options and there are also salads. Pastries are half off after 3pm. There are plenty of free, nicely sized parking spaces and a drive thru. The inside is very clean and open and the staff was super friendly. There are clean gender neutral bathrooms and you need to ask for a bathroom key. The wifi is great (able to zoom, stream music) and there are outlets available in the seating area. There are 8 small tables (enough room for two laptops) with bench seating on one side and chairs on the other. The high school is very close, so there was a steady stream of students during their lunch and after school times. They also have merch to purchase. Definitely a solid addition to the coffee scene in...

TLDR: Took one bite of the (pre-made) breakfast taco and had to spit it out. Went down the road and got a Trippy taco (+ bacon) for cheaper. Jo's Taco was 4.50... I'm easy, I don't expect much from a bacon & egg taco but this was the worst taco experience of my life. I literally had to peal this soggy taco off of the aluminum foil wrapper to get a bite. Then I put it in my mouth and things get worse as my teeth break through the congealed egg cluster. Then my tongue gets in on the action and immediately hits the "Evacuation" function. I spit it out quick. What the heck is Jo thinking? The coffee was fine but do yourself a major favor and hit Mami's Tacos to the south or Trippy to the north. edited to add pic & more details
