Whenever I visit a new city, I make it a point to try the local Mediterranean spots. As a Middle Easterner myself, I look for that “at home” experience—and this place definitely delivered. The food overall was very good. I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap with fries (not pictured) and also tried the trio of pies, which was a great choice. It included meat, cheese, and za’atar pies—perfect since I was dining with a friend who doesn’t eat meat, and he still got to enjoy the za’atar option. We also shared an order of hummus for the table. What kept this from being a perfect five-star experience were just a couple of small details. When you’re first seated, you’re served two slices of excellent pita bread with za’atar dip. The bread was fresh and delicious, but the portion was a bit small—especially when paired with a full bowl of hummus. We found ourselves repeatedly asking for more bread, so I’d suggest adding a couple of extra slices upfront. Also, the cheese used in the cheese pie had a slightly rubbery, sweet texture. Not a deal-breaker, but something that stood out. Other than that, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I genuinely enjoyed my meal. I’d happily come back next time I’m in town.

Pretty good Mediterranean food near 6th, you have other choices like halal bros but this one definitely stands out for its taste and atmosphere. Plenty of seating based on where it’s located (pretty busy intersection) Parking available but limited spots, some extra spots available behind the restaurant. Right next to Sip Pho so be on the lookout as you might easily miss it. Platters are decently big for 1 person to finish and should be shared. Hummus is great and definitely worth a try. Shawarma dishes are great too! Liked how their menu lights up while reading, a nice touch during dinner when people might find it hard to read thru. Have seen bigger parties (7-8 people) too so a good meet up spot for friends/families. Prices are reasonable! Staff is polite and service is fast, didn’t have much of a wait! They have complimentary pita bread which is so soft and tasty!

This is a Lebanese restaurant. We are from houston so we have had our fair share of Mediterranean food. I'm a little confused with this place. We got the mixed grill combination plate, with hummus and fries (both were good), an order of cheese rolls (the cheese smelled weird) and the Lebanese coffee. They don't have milk for the coffee, tasted really different. We didn't quite like it. The beef tenderloin from the mixed grill was good. The shish tawook had a slight smell to it. The kofta kabob was average. Service was meh, they spent most of the time inside. Barely saw anyone. The wife said she had a peek in the kitchen or work area and it looked messy and unkept.

My family and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kabobzi in Austin, and it was a truly delightful experience. Specializing in authentic Lebanese cuisine, Kabobzi offers a culinary journey that tantalizes the taste buds and provides a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the cozy, welcoming ambiance. The décor is tastefully done, reflecting the rich culture of Lebanon, and the staff greets you with genuine hospitality, making you feel like part of their extended family.

The menu at Kabobzi is a treasure trove of traditional Lebanese dishes. I started with the Mezze Platter, a delightful assortment of appetizers including Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Tabbouleh, and Grape Leaves. Each dish was bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. The hummus was creamy and smooth, perfectly balanced with a hint of garlic and lemon, while the baba ghanoush offered a smoky, savory taste that paired wonderfully with the warm, freshly baked pita bread.

For the main course, I opted for the Mixed Grill, which featured a selection of perfectly grilled meats, including Kafta, Shish Tawook, and Lamb Kebabs. The meats were succulent and tender, marinated to perfection, and accompanied by a side of fluffy, aromatic rice. The kafta, in particular, stood out with its blend of spices and herbs, offering a taste that was both comforting and exotic.

To end the meal on a sweet note, I couldn't resist trying the Baklava. This traditional Lebanese dessert was a perfect harmony of flaky pastry, rich nuts, and sweet syrup, providing a delightful conclusion to an exquisite meal.

The service at Kabobzi was impeccable throughout the evening. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring that our glasses were never empty. The staff's attentiveness and friendliness added significantly to the overall dining experience, making us feel well cared for without being intrusive.

In summary, Kabobzi Lebanese Restaurant is a gem in Austin, offering an authentic taste of Lebanon with exceptional service. Whether you're a fan of Lebanese cuisine or looking to try something new, Kabobzi is sure to provide a memorable dining experience that will leave you wanting to return...

We walked in and it was empty. We made our order and it took over 20 minutes to make. the food came out cold and over cooked. The salad was the only good things about the food. The portions are very cheap. The meat is old in age before it is slaughtered. The hummus and baba ghanoush was good. The rice was not cooked and the owner said he made it. It was made from 11 and it was dried up. The grape leaves were out of can. I can not believe how busy and dismissive the owner of this place is when they called to resolve the matter they did not do anything. Two customers walked out because their was no one on the register while they were preparing our food. They are the lucky ones. The guys working there are nice but how do you leave anyone with no authority to run your place. I was on vacation this was the last night ended it horribly. Thank you for that.

2 days after the top review. To keep this honest I am leaving it as is. Since then the owner has tracked me down after leaving the original comment and wanted to update the review. I took it up to 2 stars for now. For the effort of finding us and apologizing for the issue. There seems to be a huge shortage in the restaurant industry for experienced workers. Seems that most places are suffering from this condition. The owner graciously offered to invite us to his othe restaurant and was very humble about the whole situation. I am going to set some time on the side to have a somewhat lenglthy conversation to get to know him and vica versa. I do not travel to TX much as it is the second time I have been to TX in 20 years but if things work out for my family down there we will be...

Best Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurant in Austin! I am Lebanese myself and had recognized the cedar outside the restaurant and knew I had to try the food! I first tried Kabobzi about a month ago and have come back 4 times since with my family and friends, each time the food was so fresh and delicious. The food is spot on and as authentic as it gets, the taste reminds me of the home cooked Lebanese meals I had growing up. Prior to trying Kabobzi my biggest complaint about Austin was the lack of authentic Mediterranean food but after trying this restaurant I can no longer say that. The pita is real, thin with a pocket, unlike other places that use gyro bread. The mixed grill is my favorite and so filling as well, I recommend the fatoush salad and the fries with it. My sister really enjoyed the humus and falafel. They have a great selection of drinks such as traditional Lebanese beer, Almaza, as well as tea, coffee and wine. The restaurant is a family owned business and you can tell the owners take pride in their food, restaurant and service. The entire staff has been friendly and welcoming from the owner to the waitress. I can’t wait to explore everything on the menu and had to get the word out about this place so everyone...
