This Austin restaurant is certainly up against a few of the highest end steakhouse corporations in the US. Their reviews were all shining so we decided to try Longhorn Steakhouse on a Saturday night. The entire experience was much better than expected. With Texas Ranch Style decor with burnt orange and amber toned low lit lighting. This ambiance brings a feeling of comfort without being as upscale as Ruth’s Chris or Sullivan’s. The long wide open bar serves the full menu with big comfy wooden barstool chairs. We felt relaxed and happy dining at the bar with Trey as our Bartender. Trey made their House Rita and a mid shelf Rita for me. Again, very surprised these drinks were poured perfect Margaritas- as good as Guerros Taco Bar or The Texas Chili Parlor. We got the last order of their Stuffed Mushrooms with herbed cream cheese and toasted Parmesan. Large buttons stuffed with cream and white cheddar with herbs and Parmesan cheese. We split a full Rack of Baby Back Ribs with two side Caesar Salads. My personal Caesar Recipe is infamous and the best many people tell me they’ve had. Their Caesar stood heads above others - even my own recipe!!? I’m still trying to figure out HOW these Caesar’s were the best of the best in my 36 years of cooking and serving Caesar salads. Trey the Barkeep had a sweet but calm vibe that was attentive and he was genuinely interested in our experience. The Entrees come with sides and not a la cart like other Steakhouses du jour. I promise that you cannot go wrong with trying this new place, Longhorn. This is a serious restaurant with less of a hit on your wallet, but still as welcoming and comfortable as a higher end variation. They serve food until 11:00 pm on Friday Saturday. We never expected Longhorn to be as excellent or impressive as they’ve been?! Will return to 9900 5 Stars for...
Read moreMy husband and went went here about a week ago. I ordered the 8-ounce filet mignon he ordered the 10-ounce filet mig When are meals were brought out to us mine was perfectly cooked and so was his. The only problem is his steak look more like a 6 to 8oz filet instead of the 10-ounce that he ordered. We let the waitress know and she went and told Jameson The Culinary manager. Jameson came over to our table and said that he could cook another 6 oz or he could take that one away and go ahead and cook the 10-ounce that my husband ordered. My husband asked him to go ahead and take the small steak let him eat the baked potato and to please cook in the tenants that he ordered It took probably a good 20 minutes or so for the waitress to bring the correct size steak out. My husband got into it and it was cooked perfectly in the center. it had been heavily seasoned on the outside and because of the excess seasoning it had burned. My husband wasn't going to say anything he was just going to try and eat it. Right about that time Jameson came over and asked how it was and this was right as I was spitting out a piece of my husband steak that he had given me to try. We showed it to Jameson he felt really bad he said he was going to take care of it. he came back a few minutes later and said look I know this may seem kind of weird but I want you guys to be able to enjoy a nice steak dinner together so here are two uncooked steaks and 8 oz for your wife a 10 ounce for you that way you can enjoy it at home on your own. he then went ahead and removed my husband's mail from our ticket and additionally discounted the rest of the mail including my dinner and our appetizer. This manager went above and beyond customer service to make sure we were happy. I don't think I have ever had such...
Read moredecided to try a new restaurant during the freeze since we knew not a lot of people would be out. with us being one of two tables in the restaurant we weren’t sat in the main dining room..? as i work in the service industry i understand server rotations but we were sat right next to the kitchen/line opening when it was clear our server had more tables available. this normally wouldn’t be an issue but both management and servers were being obsessively loud to where we could hear word for word a rather weird conversation for dinner. female manager in blue was SCREAMING i’m so serious screaming yall and we couldn’t even enjoy our meal. we never got the opportunity to talk to the manager, who was wearing an outfit that was definitely not appropriate for work, even when there’s only two tables in the whole restaurant. when asking for recommendations it was clear that the server was just trying to sell us the most expensive things on the menu because the only thing he would say when asked about anything else was “it’s good”. when our food arrived the ribeye was less than 1/4 inch thick and when ordered rare was brought out med well which is disappointing as my boyfriend and i both work in steakhouses and see truly rare steaks go out all day. the steak had no grill marks and all of the food looked like we could get it in the frozen isle in h-e-b. okra was amazing though i’ll give you that. overall was just not a good experience and definitely not worth $80. it’s clear why this restaurant seems to struggle, could’ve probably been rectified in house, but again the manager, who i didn’t even know was a manager until he started serving food because his outfit looked unprofessional,...
