I went here for a queer showcase during SXSW and the bands were great, but the ppl that own and run this venue were extremely hostile to the bands and the crowd supporting them. They told multiple people who spent money on drinks that they could not use the bathroom, which as far as i know is illegal. This is a newish venue in an otherwise pretty okay part of Austin and the owners seem to have some cognitive dissonance about what they think this area of Austin needs. They dont think they are gentrifying the area but they totally are. I could understand them not liking the music of the bands THEY BOOKED, but the way me and my friends were treated was beyond reprehensible. They complained about the show and ppl there publicly and strait up lied about about what went down even saying "they rearranged our property" which is extremely disingenuous. I guess what they are referring to is when they moved couches around to let the bands play like any normal venue does. Also, if they shut down the bathrooms because someone wrote on the walls or whatever, they really dont understand this town. Ppl are gonna write on walls in bathrooms and it doesnt give you the right to block off the bathrooms to everyone. My friend had to drive home and back to use the restroom. The owner of the place has a past of being an abuser and bad person in general and owns several other places in town. If you claim to "love Austin" or whatever then supporting this venue is proof that what you really love about this town is everything that has ruined it. The ppl that support this spot are prob the same kind of ppl that complain about the "homeless problem" in Austin. Absolute...
Read moreHosted a private event birthday party for my 30th! Quinci was a great help with everything from questions I had, to planning to even downloading all of the songs on my birthday party playlist onto her phone cause we weren’t able to use my Apple Music playlist. I reached out a few weeks prior to the party date to see if they’d be able to add a special birthday cocktail to the menu and since they had all the ingredients in stock they accommodated it! Drinks were a little pricy but quality and really you come to a bar like this for many more reasons than just the drinks. It was quite the vibe and I received so many compliments on the venue! I was allowed to bring in my own food (pizza from a local ATX place) and they really did close the bar for my event which made it feel exclusive!
Cute little photobooth, little small but really cute photos!
I’d say about 45 people fit comfortably as I had 58 and it was a little snug but people came and left throughout the party so it felt comfortable!
Thank you Love Birds for creating the perfect atmosphere perfect for celebrating my 30th...
Read moreOne bartender (who was hustling, and very kind and friendly)for a newly opened establishment that’s been featured heavily on social media at happy hour time was a mistake for a craft cocktail bar. Took longer to wait in line, order, and have the drink made than it did to consume said drink. I had the sweet nothing that tasted very good, if not a bit in the weaker side. My husband had a mocktail. Our bill was $25.
Small limited cocktail menu. I couldn’t imagine having more than two drinks here.
It’s a small space and not a lot of indoor seating. Some of the space felt under utilizated. But it was painted pretty and had a good cohesive aesthetic. The lack of sound dampening ‘stuff’ made for a lot of muted echoing.
The outdoor patio is substantial for a bar that size - but not huge. And it needs outdoor fans and or misters.
Location felt weird for a small bar. You really gotta go out of your way to specifically go there. It’s right next to la bbq.
Overall, I’d give it a solid...
