Update 3/25/25: I am not sure if the ownership changed. The last 3-4 times I have gone it has been women running the truck and they are not very inviting or particularly nice. Before it was a very nice man that always made sure we had everything we needed. Unfortunately I won’t be returning after my last visit two nights ago. I was going to order tripas tacos, they were out and they suggested suadero so I took one and ordered a campechano. One of my favorite things at this location was the homemade corn tortillas. These tacos came served in poor quality store bought corn tortillas. The campechano taco was edible. I took one bite of the suadero taco, the meat was bad. Not as in bad flavor, like it had gone bad. The woman who took my order was bringing the plants in and I told her that the meat on the suadero taco had gone bad (in Spanish, no language barrier) and she said oh, and continued to bring plants in. No apology that they suggested a meat that had gone bad, no offer to refund or replace the taco. Not worth more confrontation than that, so I just tossed it and left. I no longer recommend stopping at this location.
Original review:
Absolutely love this food truck. I grew up in the area and now drive down from Round Rock every once in a while for the nostalgic experience. They serve delicious authentic Mexican food, coming from a family that grew up eating such foods on a daily basis. The caldo the pollo ranchero is tasty, their corn tortillas are delicious, the barbacoa, the tacos de tripa (you can ask for crunchy and they are perfect), the cheese in the quesadillas is delicious, not the flavorless mozzarella you get at other “Mexican” restaurants. The people as super friendly and patient, it feels like I am talking to family, and the seating they have is covered. I hope one day they will expand a little further north because I have failed to find anything that comes close to their food closer to home.
Edit to add that there is a review saying that it floods when it rains and my last trip was around 8pm on a Thursday while it was raining, it was not flooded and they were open. Another note that yes the price averages $3 a taco which is super reasonable and if you buy tacos you would know this. I’m not sure where you can get tacos this delicious for less...
Read moreNot the GREATEST! With that said they took 25 minutes to give me my order of food. I had to go up to the window of the trailer because they were starting to make enchiladas for a family that arrived 23 minutes after I did and I could smell that they had started their order. I asked the lady if it was going to be any longer? But I think she might of forgotten about me, but she really didn't answer me why it was taking so long, since everybody had already received their orders. Finally a man that is part of business arrived and asked me if I had been helped I said yes, BUT I have been here 25 minutes and I need to leave because it's my lunch time. He jumped right into getting it done. I consider myself a " TRUE MEXICAN" -eventhough I was born in the USA. my parents are Mexican and I cook everyday Mexican food for my family. So I know when something is good, delicious or BAD. I will not lie for the benefit of the business. I ordered 2 tripa tacos-very very chewy, 1 taco of barbacoa- a little salty but OK, 1 taco of campechano which is mixed chorizo & fajita meat- OK not the greatest & 1 sope/grodita- with Fajita meat & the meat was tough and the sope which is made of Maza and fried was not good at all. Not sure why it tasted more like grease then Maza-it's one of the easiest things to cook and make it delicious. I paid $18.00 for my order which I consider a little pricey especially because of the terrible service I received and the food just OK-NOT the TASTIEST that I have ever had. Maybe you should call first to make a phone order, otherwise you might be their longer then you think! Usually taco trailers are really fast and quick to get your order out since the meats are already cooked, but not here. I wish that I could give it more stars but this time I can't. You decide if it's worth your...
Read moreFood was play, the tortilla seemed homemade but it could have been more filling. The pastor was good and the carne asada was good. They don’t give a real receipt and it’s only cash or zelle. No cards. There was a little sitting area but it was still cold, seemed a lot of to go...
