Posse East in Austin: Classic Texas with a Wagyu Twist Just had a fantastic lunch at Posse East in Austin. This place has a real cool vibe – a classic sports bar atmosphere with a friendly crowd. For the main course, I went with the Wagyu burger. It was definitely a step up from your average bar burger. The Wagyu beef was juicy and flavorful, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. I couldn't resist adding a side of their battered fries, which were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside – perfect for dipping in ketchup! Overall, Posse East is a great spot for a casual meal and drinks. The food is solid, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is fun. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu next time I'm in Austin. **Highly recommend:** * Wagyu Burger – A must-try for burger lovers! * Battered Fries – The perfect complement to any burger.

Great draft beer selection. Service was crude and rough. Woman's restroom is inside but the men's is located on the outside corner like a outhouse. Kinda uncomfortable. The patio area is large and nice and the inside is cozy. If you wanted to watch a sports game like we did; would not recommend. The tvs are really small. Like our hotel room tv is bigger lol. Also would not recommend food. They got our Togo order completely wrong and the patty melt came on Wheat bread like what? Asked for loaded chili tots and fries and tots came dry and fries came with a thin sad layer of cheese and no chili or jalapeño. So if you go I would just suggest the nice draft beer selection.

Friendly place, great food-still savorying it as I remember (🤤🤤)! Get their speciality (ask as many questions about it as you need, you won't be sorry), fast service, very clean place awesome location. They even have a library, so you can read as you eat, a ping ball machine and an old school game console. Ant to top it off, the prices are unbeatable!

Posse East (Posse West closed over 25 years ago) is the quintissential beer and burger joint in north campus. Its been going strong since my days as an undergrad and was one of the first watering holes I frequented. 25 years later the same group of locals still sits at the same table arguing over whatever feels right at the moment, the place is still serving pitchers of beer and burgers and tacos, the engineering and law students still pile in after and sometimes during class, and it is still one of the single best places in Austin to avoid the "in" crowd and actually relax on a random evening. There is still no beeter place to relax ehen school is out of session and it has ling been my favorite locale for watching college bowl games when most of the kids have cleared out. To many its a bit of nostalgia forever locked in amber and that's a good thing for Austin when many of the good old haunts that made Austin weird are bing replaced by corporate facades and trendy popups. The burgers mat not quite be what I remember, but the chili cheese fries, the service, and the atmosphere still...

This place is a disappointment. Most of the positive reviews for this restaurant are nostalgic, and need to be updated. The service here is about as bland as the seasoning they use on the hamburgers. The food is not terrible, but nothing stands out that would make me want to return, especially for the price. All of the sides are a la carte, so nothing is included with a burger or sandwich. The small order of onion rings is $4.25 and only includes (5) onion rings!!! AND THEY ARE FROZEN GENERIC GARBAGE What a joke. Why in the world would anyone spend time and money here when C & A is a 200ft walk away? Add some seasoning to your burgers. Try slicing up a real onion, dipping it in buttermilk/flour/seasoning before frying it, and give your customers a better quality product, or at least a better portion for their money. Why would you serve frozen breaded onion rings when a fresh alternative is cheaper? Laziness is most likely the answer. Over priced food. Nothing impressive. Spend your money...

Went to Posse East several days ago with my girlfriend. I had been wanting to try it out ever since learning about it from its inclusion on a "best burgers in Austin" list. The vibe of Posse East definitely gives dive bar. They have tons of decorations on the walls that remind every patron that the University of Texas is in Austin. They also have a large bookcase full of books, which I really enjoyed since most dining establishments fail to show off a book collection. In terms of the food, I must say that the burger itself (we both ordered the 1/4 pound wagyu burger, but mine had tots while hers had French fries) was kind of a let down. It was very pink in the middle and the bun didn't really add anything to it. That being said, I thought the tater tots were fantastic. If you aren't combing the city searching for excellent burgers and you don't mind eating in a bar, then Posse East is probably a good...
