TOP RANKED #1 BEST REVIEW! -
Postino is finally in Austin! After more than ten years here, I can’t begin to express how thrilling this is. As someone who’s had the joy of visiting Postino locations across the country—from Arizona to Texas to Colorado—this long-awaited opening is nothing short of a dream come true. I’m originally from Arizona and have been a loyal fan of every Postino there. Since moving to Austin, I’ve often thought, ‘This city NEEDS a Postino!’ And now, that day has arrived. It’s about time, and it’s everything we hoped for and more!
The chance to be part of their first “unofficial” opening night felt like an honor. The atmosphere? Absolutely electric. Postino has brought its signature charm, warmth, and top-tier service to Austin without missing a beat. The team was not only attentive and welcoming but genuinely went above and beyond. They were proactive in checking on every table, making engaging conversation, and addressing any potential delays with open, thoughtful communication—just what you’d hope for in a standout dining experience.
And then, there’s the food and drink. From their fabulous small plates to the stellar wine selection, every bite and sip was a reminder of why Postino is loved coast to coast. Each dish arrived beautifully presented, with flavors as exciting as they are comforting. It’s rare to see a restaurant at capacity still delivering such personalized care and attention to detail, and Postino made it look effortless.
A special shoutout to their legendary Board & Bottle—a Postino must. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s the ultimate way to dive into their delicious spreads paired with an outstanding bottle of wine.
To the entire Postino team, thank you for making Austin feel even more like home. This was the perfect first experience, and I’m counting down the days until my next visit. Keep up the incredible work and keep this energy flowing—you’ve made so many Austin food lovers’ dreams come true.
Enjoy the photos! I tried to capture as much of this unforgettable night as possible to share...
Read moreI had been to Postinos south once before for a happy hour with some coworkers and recently returned to meet up with some friends so it was time to review! The restaurant is cute with both indoor seating and a nice patio area with umbrellas if it isn't mid-July temperatures. Our server was friendly and attentive and kept my water full which is always a big plus in my book.
Most important as always- the food! I ordered a bruschetta board: -Brie, Apple & Fig- delicious! It doesn't look like much but the combo of flavors was top knotch, loved the rich cheese and the crispness of the apple, and the amount of toppings was perfect with the amount of bread. 2nd favorite. -Burrata, Bacon, Arugula, and Tomato- this one looks great, I love the tomatoes piled on top, and it was juicy and tasty with a nice punch of flavor from the bacon. This was my 3rd favorite but I have nothing bad to say about it, I just liked the other 2 even more! This is a solid choice. -Ricotta, Dates & Pistachio- least favorite and I actually didn't love it, wouldn't order this one again. The toppings tasted good, but the ratio of toppings to bread was way off. Each bite tasted 90% of bread with a little smear of cheese and some pistachio. I think it really needs more cheese. -Mushroom and Mascarpone- The BEST. It's probably mostly because I love mushrooms, but there was a mountain of mushrooms! The toppings were piled on there and they were perfectly sauteed and juicy and went so well with the mascarpone! We fought over this one lol.
I also ordered a cocktail, the Tre Cucumber- it was delicious but a bit dangerous! It comes in a relatively small glass, and it went down fast and was strong. Maybe I would do better with the same drink over more ice in a taller cup lol, but I had to specifically not order a 2nd because it was too easy to drink.
They do have a parking garage and validate for 1 free hour- it's easiest if you download the parking app then you can just scan the QR code at the table (ask your server if you don't see it) and it gives you...
Read moreI’m not sure what kind of atmosphere or service everybody else in the reviews is used to. I’ve lived in this area for nine years, very accustomed to proper service and quality food. Tried this place out for the first time tonight. After our server brought us water, she informed us that we would be getting another server, that’s fine, we offered to pay out with her, but she insisted we pay out with our upcoming server. This server never came to our table. When I say never, I mean, never. We had one person stop by to drop off food, and another stopped by to bus an empty wine glass. Neither of them identified themselves as our servers. We had ordered two appetizers, and one glass of wine, we intended to order meals and dessert. Because this person never came, I ended up reaching out to the girl that was cleaning the table next to us, asking if our server could come over so we could pay and leave. When our identified server came over, instead of asking us, if we were the ones ready to check out, she asked the table next to us that had been there well before us, and who had asked nothing from anybody. As she was walking away from their table, we had to flag her and tell her we were the ones ready to leave. We were literally right next to the other table, maybe 2 to 3 feet away. Our server ended up being the girl that dropped our appetizers off earlier, there is no way for us to have known this.
There was nothing quality about this food for the price, there was absolutely not a single thing impressive. If you are looking for true quality, Italian food go to Vespaio on South Congress.
Not to mention, half of this crowd had to of been 21 if not younger. Nothing wrong with this, but just an idea of what this place is like. It seemed a little bit more for show than quality. Absolutely will not be back, everything about this place screams commercial, and no true...
