Review of Smarfs Sandwiches: A Promising New Spot with Room for Improvement
Smarfs Sandwiches, a recent addition to the W. William Cannon area, shows undeniable potential, but my experiences have been mixed after two visits aimed at fairly assessing their offerings.
First Visit: I started with the Mother Clucker sandwich, which features rotisserie chicken and bacon. While it wasnât unpleasant, it didnât quite meet my expectations. Acknowledging that taste can be subjective, I decided to give Smarfs another chance.
Second Visit: On my second visit, I chose the BLT, driven by curiosity about their bacon. Unfortunately, this experience was more disappointing. The bacon in the BLT resembled bits rather than the crispy, flavorful strips typical of a classic BLT. Priced at $15, the sandwich fell short of delivering the quality I anticipated. The fragmented bacon pieces detracted from the overall experience, leaving me underwhelmed.
Follow-Up: Confused by my experience, I called the store a few days later to inquire about the preparation of their BLT. The representative confirmed that Smarfs uses bacon strips but noted that the strips are thin. As a result, reheating the sandwich in the oven can cause it to crumble, leading to the bacon bits I encountered.
Alternative Comparison: Dissatisfied with the $15 BLT at Smarfs, I sought an alternative at Sprouts the next day. Although their BLT wasnât on the menu, it surprised me with its generous, identifiable bacon strips. Remarkably, this sandwich was nearly the same size as Smarfsâ but only cost $6, offering a better quality option at a significantly lower price - a $9.00 savings.
Conclusion: Smarfs Sandwiches has potential, but my experiences indicate a need for improvement. To enhance customer satisfaction, itâs crucial for them to ensure that the bacon in their BLTs retains its form and flavor. Until those adjustments are made, you may find better and more budget-friendly BLT...
Read moreSo I want to start by saying I love snarfs sandwiches and usually have a pleasant experience. The one I had today is the reason why Iâm leaving this review. So as a usual snarfâs a customer I signed up for the eclub account. I was sent a free 7â inch sandwich for my birthday. I wasnât aware that if you open the email before going it may make it invalid. So I went to snarfs last night unaware ordered with the lady at the register and it opened as invalid. I canceled the order and called snarfs customer service. I was contacted by Patty the next day who was GREAT! She gave me a code to use and I went to snarfs again for my lunch break today. The same lady from the night before was at the register. She dismissed my code and argued with me in front of the customers behind me. She then dismissed me and what I was saying to the point I had to call Patty back to tell her. Even after the fact she never apologized. She kept telling me that âYou know only one is freeâ I was with my girlfriend and also purchasing her lunch. If she would have listened to me then she would have known that I knew that. The sandwiches were great but the way I was treated by her did leave...
Read moreWe came in the first time last Thursday. The food was actually better than we expected from the reviews. The food is standard fair but it is overpriced here, What you are getting to satisfy the price is the awesome texture of the bread and sandwiche overall. I will definitely get a craving for the texture of a steak and provolone BUT sadly those sporadic times will be the only time. The staff where not helpful or polite. The guy acted like just us ordering was an inconvenience to him and rude when my partner asked about the sandwiches, they do have random sizes with huge price swings unlike the standard ideas of other sandwiche shops. LONG STORY SHORT- It taste like a perfect combination of Quizzno's & Jimmy John's combined. STAFF- Rude and dismissive irregardless of them being PRE-TIPPED. On this visit for us.
I recommend holding off on the tip until you receive your sandwich in-shop then see how you feel about a tip level. On our 1st visit 2 people that came in and ordered after all got their...
