I recently visited Caviar and More at Aventura Mall in Miami. As a resident of Trinidad, I often vacation in Miami every couple of months, and this time was no different. After a few hours of shopping, I decided to stop by the store for lunch.
Upon arriving, I stood at the counter waiting for the waitress, but she never approached me. Thinking she might not have noticed me, I went to her directly. She looked at me and then turned away, which I initially assumed was a mistake. I proceeded to find a seat at one of the tables, but both empty tables needed to be cleaned. Standing on the side, I waited for her to acknowledge me, but she never did. When I approached the counter again, she brusquely indicated for me to wait. I stood there for about five minutes, feeling increasingly uncomfortable and embarrassed.
Finally, my friend suggested we leave due to the poor treatment. Before leaving, I decided to address the issue. I told the waitress that she should not discriminate against me because of my appearance or skin color. It was a very sad and humiliating experience. As an attorney, I can certainly afford to dine at such establishments, which is why I chose to eat there in the first place. However, after this experience, I will never recommend this place.
If this is the kind of staff that Caviar and More employs, I want nothing to do with this business. I believe in the power of my voice and my purchasing power, and I will use both to advocate for fairness and equality. I will make sure to highlight this incident and never recommend this...
Read moreFirst of all the service and attention in general is not business oriented, I didn't feel welcomed at all. I went there with my husband and we waited for a while to be seated until we decided to sit down at the counter, we waited for another 10 mins without being greeted. The four employees that were there were occupied with other chores, folding napkins, restocking pastries, etc. customers don't seem to be their first priority, neither is to make them feel welcomed. Finally, when one of the waitress asked what we wanted, she consulted with an older Russian lady (the manager) and told us that coffee and pastries were only to go! That the seats were only reserved for dinner! It was 4:00pm and it's the frigging mall hallway! We felt discriminated as customers, I told the manager that this is not way to treat customers, she couldn't care less. Nasty people with bottom line mentality. This is no way to treat...
Read moreExtremely disappointing experience. I came here, simply sat down, and was immediately asked if I planned to order something. I politely said, ‘Not for now, thank you.’ To my surprise, I was told that this was private property and that I had to leave. I calmly replied, ‘No problem,’ but I found this treatment incredibly unfair and unwelcoming.
To make matters worse, I moved just one meter away from the table (which apparently wasn’t considered private property), and they told me it was okay to sit there instead. Mind you, the tables were completely empty.
This is not how customers or visitors should be treated, especially when the place wasn’t busy. It left a very bad impression, and I won’t...
