Read moreAfter being a long time costumer of their next-door restaurant, CVI.CHE 105 for years (same ownership), I gave Pollos y Jarras, Aventura, a try, recently. Skip the next 2 paragraphs, if you only want to know about the atmosphere, food, drinks, etc. and not my whole experience.
My dinner experience was ruined by a lady who sat 1 stool away from me. 30 minutes into the conversation, she almost went off on me, a complete stranger, for not being up to date with the Gaza/Israel crisis. Immaturely, she shut me down, twice. Repeatedly, she told me to "go, watch the news," as if she was my mother.
While this might be an isolated incident, it took away from my experience. An awkward silence and tense vibe took over the whole bar(just what you want with you $60.00+ meal). If this is the kind of people that frequent this place, I should look for another restaurant. Let me point-out this side-experience does not affect my star review.
-The atmosphere, food and service: The decorations borrow from Peruvian redneck pop-culture, known as Chicha. While the neon fonts, posters, pinatas, etc. might look like randomness, at first, it's actually a theme of festive street Chicha culture. I've found it all very clever.
-I ordered EL SÁNGUCHE DE PLAYA EL SILENCIO: Pieces of rotisserie chicken, homemade mayo, lettuce, tomato and avocado. The chicken meat tasted dried, which took some extra effort to chew. I've eaten the rotisserie chicken at their downtown location, before, and their chicken meat wasn't juicy, as I've eaten in other restaurants, either. Maybe, that's just the way they make it, and I should go somewhere else for rotisserie chicken.
-The Pisco sour was warm at the top, and cold at the bottom. Their Caipirinha could have used more lemon. Perhaps, they should have added the lemon slices, as they do at their next door restaurant, instead of a lot of ice blocks (see pic and compare it to google image search results).
-The bartenders, Joel and Steven, were friendly, and provided some small talk. All staff members I've come across, that night, were polite and helpful.
Perhaps, I went on a bad night...
To that lady: I hope things work-out for you. I would have told you this, in person, but you...

Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor added an extra touch to our dining experience. 👏🌟
Now, let's talk about the food. We decided to go for the El Piso option, which included a mouthwatering selection of dishes. We indulged in a succulent ribeye steak cooked to perfection, a flavorsome New York steak that was a true delight, and the chicken skewers, which were bursting with savory goodness. Each dish was expertly prepared and presented, showcasing the culinary skills of the talented chefs working behind the scenes. 🍖🔥🍗
I cannot emphasize enough how delicious the food was. Every bite was a symphony of flavors, leaving us craving for more. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and the careful attention to detail in the preparation made each dish truly exceptional. 😋👌
Overall, our dining experience at this restaurant was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of Alejandro and Emma's impeccable service and the delectable El Piso meal made it a truly memorable occasion.
