Located in Aventura Mall in Aventura, this Peruvian restaurant initially piqued my interest.

Eager to sample a traditional Peruvian dish, I was recommended the daily special surf and turf by our server. Skeptical of its authenticity, I was assured it was indeed traditional.

However, I still didn't believe this was true, since I know it is more American. When I inquired about other options, she seemed to suggest only the priciest dishes rather than specific recommendations. This was quite disappointing, a stark contrast to my usual dining experiences.

Ultimately, I had to rely on my own judgment for the selection. For starters, I chose the 'causa de vongrejo con palta,' a delightful blend of potato, crab, and avocado. My main course was 'mi favorito y lo dice Juan,' a breaded tenderloin paired with basil pesto linguini, topped with a fried sunny-side-up egg and a special sauce. My wife opted for 'nuestro chupe arrozado,' a risotto and shrimp dish enveloped in a unique seafood sauce, while my daughter-in-law enjoyed 'lomo saltado,' a classic combination of tenderloin, rice, and fries.

My starter food was a savory nod to tradition, but the main course fell short of my expectations. I also sampled the dishes ordered by my wife and daughter-in-law. The 'lomo saltado' was commendable for its flavorful tenderloin, but the other dish did not leave a lasting impression.

Given that this was my first encounter with Peruvian cuisine, I had hoped for our server to guide us towards genuine traditional fare.

The restaurant's interior was aesthetically pleasing, yet we preferred the outdoor seating. Unfortunately, the ambiance was marred by the overly loud and somewhat irritating music.

In conclusion, our experience was marred by subpar service and underwhelming dishes, leading us to decide against a return visit. It's worth noting that while food quality and taste are crucial, they are not the sole determinants of customer satisfaction—a point underscored by the lack of guidance from our server.
