Magoo's California Pizza — Restaurant in Avon

I don't usually write a review on here. Only doing it a few times. I wanted to go around and try different pizza places from the ones I know. I looked up and saw this places' review and figured a good place to start.

I came in far later in the day and wasn't sure what to expect. It wasn't close to closing, but late enough who knows. The place was VERY clean and everyone was friendly. I walked up and they asked the usual are you here to pick up I hear everywhere. I said I wanted to order and soon after I started looking I was asked if it was my first time. I said yes and immediately the dude at the front started explaining things about sauces and favorites. Explaining options and such. It was very nice since I was going to ask all that anyways.

Then I stepped aside for another customer to pick up and then made my decision. Got the meatlovers, half and half with garlic sauce and marinara. I also made it extra spicy. He told me they also don't have pork products and everything was made fresh including ranch (to which I mentioned I don't like ranch). I was sad no pork because I like it, but I won't let it tarnish my review because I just want good pizza.

I waited around 20 min, they updated me on time as I was sitting there. I got my pizza and they were VERY friendly and thanked me as I did as well.

Got home and shred this new pizza place pizza with my friend and tried the marinara side first. It was good, I like the crust, however it wasn't special. It was good and I like the sausage they had and everything. It beats chain places that we usually see for sure. Then I tried the garlic side, THAT is a different beast. The garlic sauce is PHENOMINAL. They have a winning sauce there that makes it soo good. I like my garlic flavor strong, and this is but not so strong to turn off people that like milder. They deserve their high rating because they do a great job. I WILL be going back and tying the chicken tikka pizza and kabob. They have a decent size menu that I will also have to try.

My husband and I have been meaning to try this place on a day when we didn’t have our kiddos with us because they’re pretty picky! We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted by the very friendly owner. He immediately recognized that it was our first time to his restaurant, so he explained his menu and told us that his ingredients were non-GMO and that he doesn’t use pork products. I have been eyeing the chicken tikka pizza for a long time, so I ordered a small pizza - 1/2 chicken tikka and 1/2 Hawaiian. My husband eats a low-carb diet, and he ordered the wings, which comes with the delicious homemade ranch and 8 wings. It wasn’t busy when we went inside, sadly probably due to the fact that US 36 is under construction making it sort of tricky to enter their parking lot. The food arrived quickly and was piping hot! I decided to try the chicken tikka slice first, and it was love at first bite. It really is my new favorite pizza. I know I will be craving it a few days from now! The sauce, which I was a little nervous to try, is a creamy white garlic sauce, and it MAKES this pizza! The Hawaiian pizza was on their spicy red sauce and was so flavorful! Y’all, this pizza is GREAT! My husband’s wings also came out piping hot and were not over cooked at all! He said they almost tasted smoked, and he liked them just as well plain as with the hot sauce. If you haven’t tried this restaurant, please check them out! I can’t wait to go back and try some new flavor combinations, although I don’t know how I’ll ever NOT order the chicken...

We ordered two pizzas, breadsticks, and wings on Christmas Eve. The order was received fairly timely for a holiday delivery however there were 5 of us that ate the food and we were ill roughly about 2 hrs later. We could not eat on Christmas Day due to experiencing discomfort and being tried to the bathroom. I reached out to the manager today and explained what we had experienced and the gentleman told me to reach out to their Third-party delivery service (Slice) as they maybe able to refund me a portion of my order- which was about $57. I attempted to reach out to slice regarding the food that were prepared by Magoo's and of course they were not much help at all. I will not order from this pizza restaurant again. The wings were dry as if they had been cooked at 8am and the pizza overall did not appear to be freshly cooked. We assumed that with it being Christmas Eve, delivery would be longer than usual but in this case our pizza arrived within 35mins of us ordering.
