I would not recommend taking your vehicle to the Take 5 on Rockville Road in Avon IN.
We took our truck in for an Oil change on a Friday, and left with more expenses than we bargained for.
I have a 2018 Expedition, and the techs could not get the skid plate off, they fought with it for what seemed like 30 mins before being able to begin the actual oil change. They made it through the oil change, and then very quickly got everything âback togetherâ well thatâs what we thought when the âsafetyâ check was completed. They go to pull me out of the bay and we hear a gut wrenching sound as I am ripping my skid plate off. My other half got out to take a look at the damage, and as he assessed the damage, their manager on duty looks at me and says go ahead and back your truck back up. Umm no thank you, this truck is not moving until what ever is dragging is removed. So I shut the car off and waited to figure out their next steps. The manager asked who did safety check, and this guy named Logan raised his hand proudly saying I didnât the safety check, but putting the skid plate on isnât part of that. (As he is walking away right next to my window.) so I asked him if the safety check involved confirming things were safe to drive, which he agreed. Anyways, once they finally got the skid plate off of my truck, it was missing bolts to hold it in as it had ripped the skid plate as it was ripped down. The manager on duty claimed the shop manager would call us on Monday and that they would do what needed to be done to make this right. Well Monday comes around and we do not get a call from the manager so my other half called up there only to find out, he is not in on Monday. So here we are today 2:30 pm no call from the shop Manager so we call them again.
The shop manager is rude, and dismissive. He states he will order the part, and fix it his self. Even with us stating our concern that bolts were hard to get out/messed up on removal that we want a shop to do the work since they are the ones who messed it up in the first place. He states he will not pay the price for a shop to complete this because he is the shop manager and he is capable of putting a couple bolts in. We just got his vehicle and my concern is that bolt holes are damaged and will need more work than just putting a bolt in. I am writing to formally complain about the service I received at your Avon, Indiana location during my recent visit. As a loyal customer, I have always trusted your services, but my latest experience was both alarming and frustrating.
I visited your Avon location because the service sticker provided during my last oil change indicated it was time for another service. Upon arrival, I was asked to open my hood so the technicians could check my oil levels. I was informed that the oil was slightly dirty but was advised to return after another 1,000 miles for a full change.
During this check, I noticed that one of your technicians, Erin, removed my engine filter without prior notice. Erin stated that the filter looked fine, but then Dennis struggled significantly while trying to reinsert the filter into my car. The force he used was so intense that it left me shaking in my car, which I found extremely unsettling.
After completing a brief check of my tires and fluids, your team closed my hood and directed me to exit the premises. However, immediately after turning right out of the facility, my car began sputtering, dashboard warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. This happened while I was still close to your shop, putting me in a dangerous situation as my car was partially obstructing oncoming traffic.
I immediately called the store and, though I was just within shouting distance, your staff was unsure of what went wrong and had to call the manager, Steven, to assist. Steven was eventually able to properly reinstall the engine filter and clear the dashboard error codes. I then performed several test drives around the parking lot to ensure my vehicle wouldnât stall again.
This was a deeply distressing experience, and it left me concerned about the possibility of any damage that might have been caused to my vehicle. Since no formal service was performed, I did not receive an invoice or documentation of the visit, so I am sending this email to document the incident.    Read moreA close friend of mine who happens to be a single mother working two jobs took her 2019 Chevy Cruz with less than 50,000 miles on it to this location on Rockville Road in Avon in front of Meijer for an oil change not only did she feel like the staff was a little rude short and dismissive but before she got home check engine light came on and her vehicle would barely run. Not having the energy or desire to confront them with this and it being late in the day, she contacted me hysterical thinking that her only vehicle has been damaged. I went over after work to find her air intake, not installed correctly. I opened the air filter, housing, and found broken pieces of plastic on the box and a round cone style filter simply laying inside the box with the mount broken. I was able to repair these things and install them correctly and clear the check engine light. She went back the next day and was told nothing they did wouldâve caused any of that and was rudely dismissed. I do have the time and energy to deal with this and Iâm sick of people getting away with not doing their job, so I contacted the store and spoke with someone who was also about to be dismissive when Cory stepped in. I explained the situation to him he acknowledged that thatâs a very difficult air filter to do sometimes, and then said that their system doesnât allow them to refund her money using the card she paid with and that sheâll have to come in there and accept cash, which I doubt sheâll do because she doesnât want to deal with the staff arrogance and bullshit.
