Had dinner with my wife and 2 kids this evening. It was 8pm on a Thursday night. Our waitress name was Taleaha. She was nice and friendly. Seemed to be a veteran at what she does. Rolls were hot, and she was frequent to our table. My wife ordered the 6oz sirloin with steak fries (as she always does), a house salad minus egg and tomato. I ordered the portobello chicken (first time ordering it), with a sweet potato and a house salad, minus the tomato. Diet cokes to drink. I ordered chicken nuggets and corn for my 4yr old. My other child is 4months, soo I was feeding him his bottle. Everything seemed excellent. She even tried to upsale appetizer and add-ons for my wife's steak. Soo she did a great job, by roadhouse standards. As we waited for our salads, 25mins, my wife takes our infant to the bathroom to change his diaper. As soon as she left, Taleaha had 6 plates across her arms and approached our table. I was caught off gaurd as our salads and entrees were being served at the same time. As she starts to sit the plates down, I'm reaching across the table to help her, as she was struggling. As soon I reached out, she dropped my wife's salad and almost everything else. I noticed she was flustered, soo I was nice about it, and told her it was fine. She went back to have another salad prepared, and my wife sat down, with a look of confusion on her face. I told her what had happened, dropping the plate on the table, wasn't that big of a deal. Downside is that my wife's dinning area on the table had smeared ranch all over it. I don't know if Taleaha forgot to clean it, or she didn't have any intentions to do it. I took a look at my plate, and I should have took a picture, but the chicken breast was burnt around the edges and the portobello gravy looked disgusting. The gravy had separated, like it hadn't been stired up all day. Almost like grainy brown jello, with some big chuncks of mushroom. I asked my 4yr old wanted for dinner and he said corn. Soo that's why we went to roadhouse over olive garden. My wife points out that they didn't give him corn, but steak fries. At this point, I'm calm collected but lost my appetite. I'm one who likes to enjoy my salad before my entree arrives, that way I can consume it while it's hot. Soo I already wasn't eating the salad due to both being served at the same time. I figured I would box it up and have it for tomorrow. But then I thought, everytime I take home a salad, it would be wilted or soft. Soo whatever. Taleaha returned to our table with a bowl of corn, for my son. I didn't think you could mess up frozen corn. It's 45 seconds in the microwave, a little butter and salt, done. It came out looking like a can of corn was dumped in a bowl. It was Luke warm, so maybe canned corn?, and water up to the brim of the bowl. My boy took a bite and said eww gross. I became upset, and no longer enjoying dinner with my family. So when she began to leave the table, I asked her to take back my entree, as I was frustrated with how the service went from great, to below par. I didn't consume any of the entree or salad. I was expecting a solution, like offering another entree. It would seem as if she was scatter brained and not focused, after she took our order. I was polite when I told her that my entree wasn't appealing and she fell short with putting our order in (she apologized, due to the fact that she put the order in at the same time as the salads. Soo a mistake on her end, but why didn't anyone in the back catch it? Soo she removed my plate, came back and let me know that she took it off the ticket. She left the salad. During this time I had 2 drinks from my diet coke. I figured it would be on the house for an inconvenience. 3.19 for a drink I had 2 drinks out of. It was 8/10ths of the way to the top. Soo this is the reason for the sub par review. I write these reviews for not only the consumer but for accountability. It's OK to send back anything that isn't up to that company's standards. Managers, owners don't know there is an issue until it presents itself as one....
Read moreWe visited Texas Roadhouse to celebrate my husbands birthday. This has been one of our favorite places to take the kids to dinner. On this particular night, we joined the waitlist that said 10-20 minutes on our way to the restaurant by using the app. We parked across the street near Best Buy parking lot because it was already full at TRH. On our way in a nice man informed us he thought the air conditioning was broken. We checked in when we arrived. Then we were called in, and asked go stand over by the wall. So we waited an additional 10+ minutes.
When we were finally seated our waitress was nice and friendly, I could tell she was just a little impatient with our kids asking questions about the menu though. We ordered our food and they brought out our appetizers, salads & the kids meals came shortly after.
The combo we ordered was pretty disappointing. Some of our fried pickles were soaked in grease but I think it came from the cheese fries not sure. It was pooled on the plate, the wings we got were dry just the chicken inside was dry & hard but my husband still ate it. The loaded fries were good though. The salads were decent. One of our kids ordered shrimp and they were also good.
Our main entrees were okay. The only issues were 1- I ordered my baked potato with no sour cream, but asked for it on the side. Instead it came loaded with it and it was definitely a huge waste as well as way too much sour cream. I scrapped as much of it off as I could. My steak was cooked very nicely and the mushrooms on top were good. I was already full at that point so I didn’t finish most of my food.
The sirloin steak one of my kids ordered was over cooked, very tough & inedible. They didn’t eat the majority of their food but did enjoy their mashed potatoes & gravy.
My husbands steak was cooked nicely but he didn’t care for either of his sides. Green beans & steak fries. His fries came loaded with cheese which he didn’t want but I think that the waiter misunderstood both of us when it came to what we wanted on sides or it was just a busy.
Our other kids enjoyed their kids meals. Mac & cheese and the chicken tenders, I think was more similar to popcorn chicken but both of them ate pretty well.
Our waitress kept our drinks filled and we didn’t feel like we were waiting around on anything. It was quick & okay service considering how packed and busy it was. The food wasn’t all together impressive, just a standard meal out. The favorite part of eating here is always the rolls. 😆🤣
We were also not sure if the AC was broken or not but it was indeed very hot inside, it was about 88° outside so no surprise a building packed with people was hot too. We were all definitely sweaty by the...
Read moreThe food was the best I’ve ever had at a TR. The steaks were cooked perfectly. Other food was delicious as well. The service from the waitress, Ashley the evening of April 11, was terrible.
A hostess sat us and brought us our bread. Ashley took our order, which consisted of two waters, a margarita, and two entrees. It took just over ten minutes to get the waters from her. Someone else brings the food. Someone else (management?) comes and checks on us. At this point I still don’t have the margarita and had planned to tell Ashley to remove it from our check. I didn’t want to mention it to management because I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. Everyone forgets. I also (wrongly) assumed she would check on us. Ashley never returns to check on us, so I can’t tell her to cancel the drink. Please note her involvement up to this point. Thus far as our waitress, she’s been the least involved.
As I’m taking my last bite of food, a bartender brings my drink over. My boyfriend asks if it can be removed from the check because we just finished our meals and we’re only waiting for the check. He’s incredibly apologetic and said that he would definitely do something, but he told us to keep the drink. So again — Ashley has brought us water and written our orders down. That’s it.
A minute later she finally returns and is trying to upsell us on more food as we’re trying to get a word in edgewise. Finally my boyfriend is able to ask for the drink to be removed and she immediately got irritated. We explained that the drink showed up literally RIGHT before she came back over and after we’d already finished our meal. It’s almost like she would have known that had she checked on us, right?
This is where she lost her tip. She doesn’t apologize at all. She immediately gets rude and says if I’m not going to pay for it, then she has to take it back. I’ve worked in the service industry and that is an entire lie. She knew she’d messed up as our waitress and instead of apologizing or doing anything to right the wrong, she takes the drink back like a petulant child and never comes back. At the very least I would expect a, “I’m so sorry for the delay. I’m not quite sure what to do here. Let me talk to my manager real quick and I’ll be right back.” But nope. No apology, no nothing. She undoes the kind gesture from the bartender and behaves like a child.
This was by far the worst service I’ve had at a TR. I won’t be returning to this location. Let me be clear: Every other person we interacted with that evening was excellent. However, that waitress ruined this...
