This is much more a take out then an eat in resteraunt. The temperature inside was probably about 78oF. My husband asked for a beer they have none. I asked for a bottle of wine but they didn't have any cold so we settled for a glass of wine each and that was caulked and had a strange taste to it, no idea what band it was. There was no poppadum's for the table which I guess must be a covid thing? My husband ordered the Chicken 65 and I ordered the Butter Chicken, we sipped the warm wine while we waited and it took a fair amount of time but I was so hot with my jeans sticking to the PVC seating who knows how long it was. My husband was happy with his food mine was not that great, all dark meat chicken with quite a lot of fat and even a fair amount of bone. Nan bread was pretty charred and black but I kind of enjoy it that way. My advise would be to get the Tikka or something you know and defiantly get a take out as that side of business seemed to do better. I would still like to see a good Indian resteraunt on the west side but this...
Read moreThey pride themselves on being "The Best Indian in Avon, IN," but I hate to put the brass tacks down and say it is among the worst Indian restaurants I've gotten food from and I've been to many across the country. For starters, my garlic naan was undercooked. The tomato soup was very watered down and bland. Ordering it spicy meant a ton of chili powder was tossed in. The tamarind sauce is absolutely disgusting and tastes almost exactly like banana ketchup. And don't get me wrong, I love some banana ketchup but that is NOT the flavor profile one should be expecting from tamarind sauce. I don't want to constantly belittle the entire meal so I will end things on a somewhat positive note. The chicken jalfrezi was at least edible. The flavor was incredibly muted though. I ordered it spicy but it had no heat at all. Could have definitely benefited with a generous pinch of salt. Prices are cheap but the quality definitely reflects as such. First and last time I ever order...
Read moreThis was our favorite local Indian restaurant. We ate here at least twice a month and spent nearly every family birthday/holiday/date night here. Tonight we walked in and the lady working didn’t greet us, but just blurted out “carry out only “ even though we arrived almost a full hour before they close. We pointed that out and she said again we could just do carry out only. We drove there to eat, not place a carry out order to wait for then drive somewhere else to eat it. Usually there’s a man that works there that is super friendly and helpful esp with the different dessert items they sell in the cases. He’s always super nice to us and we tip him well too. Sadly we haven’t seen him the past few times we’ve been there and after tonight’s experience we won’t be back. India Bistro in Plainfield also has great Indian food and they are always happy to see us. It’s a farther drive but worth it if that’s the best customer service Mint has to...
