On May 16, I (black woman) had the worst experience at this location. The manager (Michelle Williams) a black woman racially profiled me seconds after walking into the store. She unknowingly associate me with another black gentleman that just so happened to be caught stealing in that store or next-door at target. Is what the cop later reported to me. She failed to apologize when she made that mistake. She furthermore accused me of trying to steal four items that I had in my personal Ross shoppers bag. She walked around the store to follow and recorded me without my consent and gave me nasty looks. She did this the entire time that I was shopping about (40 min.). I had no idea that she thought I was in there stealing as to why she kept following me and giving me dirty looks. I completely ignored that and continued on shopping. It was a lovely Saturday that day. I was having a great day minding my business. It got to the point where I ended up walking out of the store without buying the items that I really wanted. When I realized what she was doing I got pissed & I put the items on the floor and politely walked out. I did share words and told her about herself, but She was yelling & accuse me of hackling customers when she was the loudest one in the store. I got so frustrated that end up calling the police on her. When I arrived to the store earlier that day there were several cops for the incident with the other guy. This made me hesitant to go in so the smart thing for me to do was to wait my anxiety cannot handle that much commotion. Five cops walked out and when I walked in Michelle, the store manager at the time shot me dirty looks as if I was apart of the commotion. When the cop pulled back up for my situation. I explained to him what transpired. He asked if I wanted to go back in to get information to make an official complaint. I said yes, we walked back into the store we waited a few moments to speak to the manger. As conversation went on the cop told her that I had nothing to do with the situation beforehand and I was not in there stealing, and they were not waiting outside for me. All what she tried to put on me. She still failed to apologized for falsely accusing me. Then she asked for my name to personally get me trespassed on the store. I walked out the store. Trespassed for what!? When I had no intentions of stealing and I wasn’t associated with anyone stealing. She even lied to the cop and said I look like someone who was caught in their stealing before After she was so loud and wrong the first time. This was my first time inside of this Ross location. Michelle could’ve just apologized and the situation could’ve been done, but she did NOT. I called customer service and reported her to Ross corporate. A week past and the district manager, who apparently stays in Illinois gave me a call back her name is Lauren. I explained the situation to her can’t remember if Lauren actually apologized, but I’m sure she did and that’s as far as it went. I asked how I was going to be accommodated for the experience I endured. It is now July and I have yet to hear anything back. Read moreI had an awful rude experience on tonight the associate Silvia (I believe that’s what her co-worker called her and because she wasn’t wearing a name badge I’m not sure). I waited in line several minutes while she conversed about St. Patrick’s day with the customers ahead of me. However, while I was making a return in the middle of my transaction she asked the customer behind me to begin to put her belongings on the counter in front of me as if I was not standing there or as if I was going to pay for her things. The customer said “I’ll wait that is kinda rude,” Silvia than said “it’s okay its what we do here it’s apart of the process.” My receipt had not printed out yet, and she was already helping the next guest. I asked her to call her manager she said she would after she finished helping the guest and that the manager Madelyn was too busy and couldn’t come to the front anyway so she would call another associate to assist me with my complaint. The associate who came to assist me was very pleasant, helpful and apologetic. It would be understanding if Silvia’s eagerness to help her customers was consistent with each customer; however, she made a difference with me and why? Silvia’s customer service was not consistent as she did not offer me to place my things on the counter in the middle of the transaction of the guest ahead of me. For future reference, if this is protocol of the company it’s absolutely rude and disgusting and should be eliminated as it could escalate and create a hostile situation amongst customers and associates. She made a difference with me and put the other guest in an awkward position as she too said it was rude. The company should offer customer service and diversity training to their associates on how to better serve each guest equally, respectfully, and how to wear a name badge as apart of their uniform so they can be properly addressed and identified because this was...
Read moreAt first we liked this place, it’s affordable and has really good selection but after yesterday we won’t be going back, the man working the dressing rooms treated my mother and I as if we were theifs and kept an attitude with us both, but he treated other customers differently and with a different “procedure” my mom got fed up as was I and when a women walked out of the dressing room she walked through with her elections without being checked but my mom and I were being made to put the clothes on a rack wether we were buying them or not because he insisted in making sure they were the right amount as before, my mom left saying she wasn’t taking anything anymore and I did the same and he continued to try and explain to me so I could explain to her as if she didn’t understand or comprehend. We have never been treated like this at other Ross stores or other places in general and to be signaled out like that and using a procedure as an excuse is so disrespectful to us as paying customers, I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else but we will not be going back to a place where we are seen as...
