How does a place turn away a family of 20 in town for a funeral? Amazing we call to make reservations for our family already going thru a difficult time and the lady on the other end tells us it could be up to an hour/-and half wait even after we have called at 2pm letting them know our arrival 6pm seating arrangement. Longhorn has always a family and friendly go to place here and Avon, that had never let us down. I even had written so many great food reviews in the past and to help things it's endorsed by AMEX platinum. However incident set us back during a hard time, cut the entire family. The action of 1 single person also hurt Longhorns reputation and took money away from servers/waitresses that work so hard. As a result of not being accommodating we placed a call to the Avon staple restaurant "OPA" and no issues. We got reservations there with ease. I will also say this isn't the first time we have had issue with the seating in past here at Longhorn. They have before said to us as we entered it will be an hour wait; only to be seated within 15mins. Leadership needs to help these younger kids understand where their bread gets buttered. Update to next visit (2 of us): This place continues to always struggling with seating, and definitely needs more help with accommodating the walk-ins. Still the only sticking point at this location. Everything else including our waitress, food, and overall price was spot on. We were completely satisfied and feel if they can do a better welcoming experience the restaurant would be worthy of a perfect score - but they must improve. Update June 2023: Tabby and Katrina doing there absolute best to make it a great experience for my wife and I. You 2 are superstars and if I was a millionaire with my own business on the beach, you both would be running it because I would steal you both and pay you what you deserve!!! Thanks to you both: We got ahold of gift card services and found that our gift card funds had been stolen remotely. They see the errors and now just waiting on a new card next week and we will definitely return!

I hate leaving bad reviews. If you look you'll see that it just hardly ever happens. This is justified. We've eaten here many times over the years. We know steak. Our son worked at a farm where they grew and butchered livestock. My wife ordered a filet. She was served what we believe is a sirloin. Overcooked and tough as well. Our son and I both had the burgers. They were actually great. A little overcooked, but great. Here's where the problem came in. The "manager". He was willing to do basically nothing except to tell us that it was a filet. He said he watched it come out. My wife was willing to accept it, but said we should be charged for what was served. He didn't accept that and walked away. We didn't ask for a refund. We didn't ask for anything other than to honestly be charged for the food that was actually served. That'll about do it for us here. There's better to be had elsewhere for the same price for steak. But if you want a decent burger for $16 then this place might be for you. Edit: by the time we typed and sent our reviews the manager had agreed to comp the filet. So weigh all this information as you will. The food was good otherwise and the server was exceptional.

Our waiter never came back to see if the steaks were ok just came back with the bill. Now the did take her meal off which was good but they charged me for my salad which I didn't eat and we gave both of them back to the waiter. Don't think I'll probably be back to use the card. I'm going to start from beginning to end.

When I first got there with my wife and kids, we were greeted by a young guy. Didn't seem to really want to be there. When he went to get our table ready usually the customer follows the host/hostess. That didn't happen. He told me to wait so he could get the table ready which was odd to me but we waited patiently.

The atmosphere was very southern. It wasn't terrible. Kind of the rustic look with some paintings all around. A bit dark in my opinion but still was decent.

The waitress was nice. I could tell she didn't want to be there either but she put out effort to try to hide that.

Now on to the food. This was the worst part. We ordered some shrimp for an appetizer. When we got the shrimp, there were more peppers than shrimp and the shrimp were tiny little things fried in a bland batter. The ranch was a bit salty.

The complimentary bread was hard as a rock. My kids had a hard time eating it. I could've blended that up and made bread crumbs with it to use for the shrimp. The butter was good though.

Basically my whole family ordered burgers. My kids had the kids burgers. I'll tell ya. They weren't kids burgers. Those were full on adult burgers. I split one of them between two of my kids and they still didn't finish it. It was the same size as my burger minus the lettuce and tomatoes and whatnot that I had.

This part wouldn't have bothered me so much had the waitress not asked. When I ordered my burger she asked me how I wanted my burger cooked. I told her medium. Just a personal preference. When I got my burger I cut my burger in half. My burger was every bit of well done and dry. The tomatoes and mayo didn't help much at all.

My side fries were bland. Very little salt. Hardly any seasoning. Ketchup didn't do much justice.

Overall it wasn't a good experience. I hadn't been to longhorn in a while. But I won't be going back.

I also tried the steakhouse Mac and cheese. That Mac and cheese had more salt on it than the fries and shrimp combined.

Not too good. The food was below what I would think they would have. The staff seems to not want to be there and I don't blame them because they are serving people sub par food and trying to be happy about it.

If you want a decent steakhouse or good meat, everything around longhorns is better. I hope things change so we can go back. As of right now that won't...

My Husband ,daughter and I went here last night hoping for a nice tasty dinner. It is above average prices and used to be a dependable tasty meal. Service has been good in the past. My husband was hungry . My daughter and I opted for appetizers to share. We got the Texas Onion petals for the table while we ordered our food. They used to be delicious. Not so anymore . Heavily breaded in a salty over flavored mix drizzled with a creme sauce to combat the over breading.. we ordered chicken wings and fried pickles to share and my husband ordered a full rack of ribs with loaded baked potato and a salad. We received his meal and the pickle chips. I asked about my WINGS... oh they were still being cooked. Servers first day on the floor. Her name was Hart or ♥️... right. She came back to ask how everything was and I again asked about my wings. When I got them they were spicy chicken bites and I asked her about the wings being BONELESS??? Finally she got the fact that I had the wrong item. Let me go talk to my Mgr. K! So as I picked at the bites yuck. Ate pickle chips ,two ribs a piece of doughy ( not hot n Crispy)whole grain bread with heavy butter. The Mgr. shows up with my wings and an explanation of newly trained first time server, here’s your wings I ordered them for you myself...Our table is littered in empty dishes and half eaten appetizers (because they were awful) asking if everything was ok now. Everyone is done eating and our happy little dinner was a nightmare at best! Thanking me for being so patient. Yes I was kind and patient. Inside I was saying never coming here again thank you very much. Their menu changes to cheaper more heavily processed food is not a good one. I used to salivate for their fresh breaded deep fried asparagus or zucchini. Their Tonion petals used to be lightly breaded sweet onions with a good spicy dip, Their ribs were civered in more of a sweet glaze gone was the real barBQue flavor. Pickle chips were the most edible choice on the table. You think they would have comped my Wings after wasting so much of my time waiting then expecting me to eat them at a dirty table while my family waits . No sorry...
