Rise'n Roll Bakery — Restaurant in Avon

I have visited this Rise and Roll various times and aside from one other experience that wasn’t great, my experience over the weekend has made me want to write a review. I purchased two shelf items (jelly and pickles), frosted sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies. I asked the girls working if they had a smaller chocolate chip cookie option for purchase and they brought out a half dozen from the back. I purchased it and remained in the store with my kids while I was waiting for the rain to stop. We tried the chocolate chip cookies and they weren’t good. I looked at them and thought to myself, these look different than the ones I showed them if they had a half dozen of. I brought it up to the ladies working there and we looked at the packaging for both and could tell they weren’t the same. The ladies said it was probably two different batches. I asked if anything could be done as I was expecting them to be like the ones on the floor and while she was going to give me a refund and have me purchase the other one (after a lot of back and forth on what they could even do becuse they didn’t know what to do) they asked “were these opened” and when I told them AGAIN that yes they were opened in here and that’s how I noticed they weren’t the right ones, they said there was nothing they could do. Just a minute prior to this, they had offered to call management to see what options I had. To avoid going back and forth I told them to keep what I bought and left the store. I threw away $7 which sure, isn’t a lot, but it’s the fact that they didn’t know what to do and couldn’t find a reasonable option. I wasn’t rude and even told them I am sorry to even ask for a refund or exchange. There is no reason an accommodation...

Hands down one of the best bakeries I've ever been to. The entire place was clean and very well organized. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. There's a terrific variety of donuts to choose from all aesthetically pleasing to look at. They even have samples to try! Amazing!

I started with the Raspberry donut and the first thing I noticed was the texture. It was a perfect texture of fluffy yet firm to hold the abundant Raspberry filling. It was sweet but not overly sweet it was a perfect balance. The next I tried was the peanut butter filled....again the texture on point and the peanut butter fluff was smooth and was sweet without being overly so which is a tough thing to achieve. The next was the carmel cinnamon sugar Bavarian creme filled. I was concerned that with all that there would be too much going on, but there wasn't. The soft cinnamon sugar coating mixed with the fluffy donut and the creamy filling was very pleasant. They were all amazing and I strongly recommend checking this place out. I had an extremely high opinion of this establishment until today. I bought what I thought was a Pecan Pie because it was labelled Pecan Pie. When I cut into it, it turned out to be an apple pie. I am not an apple pie fan. SO, I went to return it. The lady just took it back and said: "Is there something else I could do for you". I said no and came back. At least an offer to replace it with a Pecan Pie would have been nice. I was going to buy half a dozen donuts too. But that approach just made me turn back and leave the place. May be they do not have a return policy even if they make a mistake.

The owner responded with this: 'Pecan pies and apple pies look nothing alike. Our apologies if the labels were incorrect. I suggest that you should bring it back to the bakery and get your money back. Have a wonderful weekend."

I did take it back to return. They took the pie and made no offer to refund my money or replace my pie with a Pecan Pie. I was not about to make a scene with other customers around for 7 dollars I may have spent on it. The issue is not money. The issue is the attitude of not even making a token gesture...
