My wife and I got to this Waffle House and expected a wait and there was. So after sitting there for a few minutes waiting on a table and older couple came in and was seated right away ( while we are still waiting to be seated. ) So a table finally becomes available and after a few minutes the hostess/waitress comes and stands beside us and hears us talking about the table that's been empty for approximately 5-8 minutes now. She said she was going to clean it so we can have a seat. After finally being able to sit at a table another waitress comes and said she will be right back to take our order never asking if or what we would like to drink. About 10 minutes later she comes back to take our order. We finally get our drinks 10 minutes after we order. The guy calling out the order to be cooked and the cooks themselves are definitely not on the same page. Fast-forward a few minutes later we finally get our food, my food was cold like it sat on the counter for a while and my waffle looked like it was hurried and half got stuck to the waffle maker. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at...
Read moreWent in after a night of a few drinks with some friends. We sat at the bar for prompt service, placed our order, I specifically asked for my hashbrowns to be flipped because I love the crunchy bits-shortly after we get our order in I asked to add some scrambled eggs as well. The server with a rude tone said “well you’ll have to wait, I’ve already put your order in” as if it’s a horrible inconvenience to crack two eggs after the order had been called. I got my food, the hashbrowns hadn’t been flipped like I asked, and I was now dealing with a sour mood from the server so I made up my mind that I wasn’t tipping her. After I paid for my food I waited for a receipt and she said “oh you’re done, you didn’t leave a tip on the card, are you tipping in cash?” I had to explain that a tip is for good service and she wasn’t entitled to a tip just because she works there. I’m a great tipper, even for mediocre service, but the minute a server is rude that tip is out of the question-I’ll let the establishment pay you that...
Read moreI usually love this Waffle House location and have been a loyal customer for over 25 years—never had a single issue until today. After a long day at work, I stopped in for a meal and some coffee. The waitress was kind, but when I asked for another coffee refill, she told me it would be the last one, saying her manager (Shantel) told her there's a three-cup limit.
Wait—what? Where is this policy written? I even looked it up and found this response: “No, Waffle House does not have a written policy limiting coffee refills to three cups when you're dining and paying for food. In fact, the chain is known for offering unlimited coffee refills with a meal, a tradition common to many diners.”
Can someone please clarify what's going on here? Is this a new store-level policy? If you're planning to visit, just a heads-up—you might want to pace yourself, because apparently the coffee stops...
