Denny's — Restaurant in Bakersfield

This visit was by far the worst visit I have ever had. Upon arrival to the store, I was asked how many are in my party, while clearly stating I had three adults and four children, I was still asked if there will be any children. As if the four of them standing right there wasn't plain enough. Once seated our server took 10 minutes to come take our drink order. Even though the place was clearly not busy. They had maybe 15 other tables with customers. During our wait, our server never came to check on our drinks. After about 20 minutes of sitting there, our server brought out all of the sides for my children, but no food. Which I've never had done at any restaurant I've been to. Our food took between 45-60 minutes to get to us. This is understandable, we had a large party. But my 4 year olds food was wrong, two of us waited an additional 10 minutes for our food. Once the last two plates were brought out, which happened to be my plate, both of us had noticed that our sirloin steaks were not cooked to how we asked for them to be done. One steak was rare, when asked for medium. The other steak was, I don't even think you can call it rare, I would say thrown on the grill for a few seconds, when I clearly stated I would like well done. When our server came back to check on us, I had her take my steak back to the cook. She brought it back about 10 minutes later and it was barely cooked from what it had been. It was medium rare. Asking a second time for a well done steak, must have been too hard to comprehend. When complaining about this, nothing was done. The manager never came by the table. Nor to the door when I was checking out. Needless to say, I will NOT be making another...

Waitress was wonderful ! Food was not what we expected ! We eat at Denny's all the time because we are transporters and you find them at a lot of truck stops . Get the superbird all the time , husband decided to try it because I always love it . You couldn't hardly see the meat on it and we asked for our fries to be crispy and they hardly done . Never complain about food and was going to go ahead and eat it . Then the waitress asked how it was and I said , it's not like Denny's food and told her why . She took it back and when came back after double the time as the first one itooked the same but the meat was cold this time . She asked if it was better and we said no . The manager came out and ask about it so we told her . She had an attitude and said she watched him cook it and it was portioned correctly . Well it takes 4 pieces of meat , there was 4 pieces of meat but the slices had to be a third the size of the other Denny's . The manager didn't ask if we wanted anything else , just said it was right . I do recamend Denny's , but NOT this one . We we're not trying to get anything free , just wanted what we ordered . Manager said she worked at other Denny's and they all do...

After several years of being a regular, We stopped going to Denny's because the service had gotten so bad. We couldn't even get an order to go without complications, almost every time there was an issue, and I and/or my family have always been the polite customer and tipped well. Even on orders to go, there always seemed to an issue. Our problems were with this location, but we were so fed up, we stopped going to Denny's altogether. On this day we were meeting someone to get something notorized. We arrived after the notary, He had nothing on his table to indicate he was even offered service. The last time we met there, also business, he did order a drink, and we declined, but we were offered. This time there wasn't even an scknowledgement by the waitress. I was actually trying to get her attention to place an order. But enough said; I would strongly suggest that anyone considering this location for your next meal, keeping driving.
