Filling Station — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I have always wanted to give this place a try. It looks so neat and cool when you pass it as you drive by so today I decided to go ahead and follow my gut. The menu looked very interesting and delicious. Now as I drive up the female barista is chatting with the patron ahead of me...that's no problem I figure maybe she just placed her order and is waiting for her goods. 5 minutes go by...then 10 minutes go by. I notice that the barista hasn't left the window. Her elbow is propped up in the window and the 2 women are just shooting the breeze. more than enough time has passed and the car ahead of me should have gotten her order by now...but no. by this time cars pull up to the opposite window( and are waiting) and a walk up order was made and completed. when the car in front of me gets her order...it is 4 drinks and nothing else! I finally pull up to the window. The female barista looks at me a number of times but never comes to the window. She could have easily said, "I'll be right with you" or "It'll be a few more minutes, if you don't mind the wait" but do you think she did that? after another 3-5 minutes of sitting at the window she indicates to the male barista to come to the window and with a friendly greeting he takes my order (a 12oz hot ambrosia latte). a very short time later he returns with my drink ready to hand to me and a smile on his face. If it had not been for the 2nd barista I guarantee that today would've been my last time visiting the Filling station. The drink was very good but the customer service (initially) was unprofessional. I do plan on giving it another try and I can only hope that I don't receive the same service I...

Decided to try this coffee shop and support local rather than go to my usual Dunkin or McD's. Had enough time to look over the entire menu thoroughly, there was only one car in front of me. The woman had already gotten her coffee, paid, placed her empty coffee cup and trash into the sliding tray for the owner to throw away for her, and kept talking and talking and talking. I waited for at least 10 min and there was no end in sight. I understand as an owner you cant just shoo someone away but I knew he didnt really care when he continued to ask open ended questions to encourage it rather than seeing he had another customer and attempting to thank her and wish her a good day. Rude in my opinion, I reversed and went to the other window and there was no one there. I was forced to go to my beloved Dunkin where the line and coffee flows and your time...

This place is LEGENDARY! It should be at the top of Bakersfield's list of ICONIC establishments. THERE IS NOT ONE LIKE IT! The prices r absolutely awesome and so is every single drink option. And i mean that. The coffe gets u going, Theyve also got u covered if youve just got a sweet tooth. You can rest assured you will not ever be disappointed here. I give u my word. Every single person working there has such a big smile and a level of positivity so genuine, itll brighten up ANYONE'S day! This place blows starbucks completely outta the water. 100% Yes, it CAN be a bit of a wait sometimes but I really don't see much that they can do about that. People just know what's good. All those cars aren't waiting in line for No Mediocre drinks or overpriced, watered down coffee. This place is worth being late to work for. And I mean that. Just asked...
