Pura Vida Coffee — Restaurant in Bakersfield

Every time I go here I am asked to repeat my order 3 times: Me: "Hi, I would two large iced lattes with regular milk and brown sugar syrup." Barista: "Great. And was that iced?" "Yes" Barista: "OK, what size?" and so on....

Once I reach the window, I am charged $14 and they give me two small coffees. I restated my order, and the barista argued with me that I did not order a large(?!?) even though I just paid for 2 large coffees. I asked to see an itemized receipt of my order, she says they don't provide those. I ask for the owner's number. She doesn't provide that either. This is at least the third time I have been given a smaller size than I paid for, I think they are just hoping people don't have time to wait for them to remake the correct order.

So this lil Wednesday Addams wannabe high school girl with her nose ring and raccoon eye makeup is charging people whatever she wants, and making whatever drink she feels like, and then catching an attitude when questioned and blaming the customers for her (repeated) mistakes?

Reading the reviews, I am not the only one receiving the wrong order and being treated poorly by the baristas. It is sad to see a new local business be tanked by some rude high school kids who think they own the place. If I were the owner I would fire everyone involved in this scam of overcharging people, and start over with hidden shoppers to maintain quality control if you want to keep your business. After passing by this place so many times I decided to give it a try today and I was pleasantly surprised!, Though I did not try their food, which I will be pretty soon I decided to stop by and grab an iced coffee. The menu was quite eye-catching with all the beverages they had to offer, for example “ Brown sugar macchiato, mazapán latte, horchata café de olla” and many more! Couldn’t decide but I had a well recommended drink for the Bartista a young girl who suggested the Brown Sugar Macchiato ! Hands down I wanted to swing by to get a seconded one 😂 if you love cafe with a touch of Latin American this is the place for you ! Give it ago they have reasonable prices 🫶🏻👏🏻

My sister and I tried out their coffee recently and I noticed their sizes are large and good portions. On menu you can get an "Extra large" but we both went with a large size and it was enough. The prices are not too high for it being a smaller business and I appreciate that. I liked my iced coffee from here (I don't remember the name of it). My sister had gotten some kind of chocolate frappé but hers seemed a bit too much of one thing and not enough of another. like it was too much chocolate syrup added to it, I believe. We also ordered the coffee cake.. I think we both liked that the best of all. We will have to try some more things to really see more tastes.
