Shang Yan Chinese Express — Restaurant in Balch Springs

A couple of weeks ago my son and I got a great order and food done well. I don't know what has happened since then but this last weekend was a fiasco. They refused my order of chicken and shrimp sesame saying those don't go together. So I ordered chicken and requested a side of shrimp. Ended up with 2 full meals. They asked if I wanted vegetables and then gave me yet another full size order. My granddaughter requested she get noodles with her food. They refused and ordered a full plate order of noodles. I guess they figured the only way to make money is to cheat. My kids came home with $50.00 worth of food when I spent a little over $20 previously. The worker refused to get this straightened out. It was our LAST time to go there. I'm going back to Pine Tree Garden. I really believed we found a good place to get Chinese food at a reasonable rate. We love Chinese food but will never get it there again. I tried numerous times to speak to the manager and were unsuccessful. For every single person we recommended this place to, we have gone back to and told them about the treatment we received. ...

Ate here today with high hopes because of the reviews. It wasn’t BAD but I wasn’t impressed either. The lady at the window was really nice, a plus for me, the food was also fresh and hot, another plus. It just wasn’t what I was expecting. The orange chicken is just fried chicken with a bunch of orange sauce drizzled over the chicken. Fried rice had no egg or veggies in it. The orange sauce was not spicy at all, as it is indicated spicy on the menu, sauce was bland with a very mild taste of orange. It was more sweet than anything. Beef and broccoli was fresh too but lacks flavor. It wasn’t disgusting, but it really lacks flavor and falls short of homemade Chinese food. The egg roll was very good. It didn’t even need soy sauce. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again, but I also wouldn’t refuse to eat it if someone picked it up,...

So I tried this place for the first time, I didn't know how the ordering process was. The menu board on DT looks old and some items hard to read. The person on the other side(a lady was not so helpful) i sat there and after waiting a like a min😅 i decided to pull up. She did not give me my total or said drive up she just stopped talking. Once I got to the window she was a bit rude, seemed upset after i asked her for sauce had to pay extra for it so decided to add 2 spring rolls. The food was good but i asked for extra sauce on it and didn't get it, I was also missing a egg roll I paid extra for.
