A night that was supposed to be a great night becomes a disappointing night. My boyfriend decided to suprise me with a dinner here for our anniversary, unfortunately I did not bring my ID therefore I was not allowed to drink (understood). My boyfriend decided to order his drink and because he ordered the same drink I initially was going to order the server quickly assumed it was for me although my boyfriend and I order the same thing. The server looked at him and said “WELL YOU have to be the one to drink it”. Our server was very rude and looked very uncomfortable from the beginning as if he did not want to be at work. He made me feel very uncomfortable once he told all his co-workers to watch our table to make sure I wasn’t drinking. Sure enough I leave the table to use the rest room and the MANAGER came over and yelled at my boyfriend ACCUSING me of drinking his drink. The whole dinner we had people giving us the death stare from start to finish, a lady pretending to clean the tables around us to watch us. Apparently the bar tender from the other side of the room said she “saw me drinking” out of his cup. We had plans to drink after when we got home there was no need for me to do that, I knew from the beginning that the employees there were weird I could feel the stares. We simply did not like that the manager came over to my boyfriend and EMBARRASSED HIM in front of everyone ! Yelling at him because he was told by one of the employees that they saw me drinking. When we confronted him about it we asked him to go review the cameras and after to please make up for the false accusations! After reviewing the footage, it was like arguing with a wall. All he would say was that he apologizes and did not want to comp our meal. As a manager you would think that he would not argue with the customers after he COMMITED A BIG MISTAKE! My boyfriend was extremely upset as he felt we were being targeted because of our race. Hispanic & black in a restaurant in Fredrick , we thought nothing of it until we were humiliated in front of the entire restaurant. Our server never came back to the table and told us “I’m not doing this” & for the last 30min we had a new server “Adam” who closed us out. This was a very unfortunate experience over something so small, falsely being accused of drinking is insane. I wish that we could post footage of that night. The manager ended up offering us free dessert but after everything we were ready to leave. I will not recommended this place if you are of color, the employees and the manager will breath down your back & give you nasty looks the entire time. The server was terrible and sassy & the bar tender is a liar! This establishment needs to properly train their employees to provide better customer service, this was a terrible experience & very unprofessional. They are very lucky that we did not cause a scene , this was very unacceptable, they should be ashamed. And if it wasn’t late and the food hadn’t already been placed .. we would’ve left A...

Myself and 4 others decided to try out the new Firebirds wood fire grill in Frederick. We checked Open Table and they were actually pretty booked up but we did get a reservation for 8:15 in the evening. When we arrived we just had to wait about 10 minutes for the table to be prepared before we were seated. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place because even though it looks kind of dark when you're standing in the entry way each table has their own pendent lights shining down so the table itself is bright and there's no issue with seeing the menu or the others in your group. The waitress we had was good but just overall the service seemed a little slow and the food coming out of the kitchen seemed a little slow. We weren't in a big rush and enjoyed the time to conversate and chitchat while we were waiting. The food itself was really good the majority of us had steaks but they were I would say a little pricey and you only get one side with your meal anything extra such as a soup a salad or a second side you're paying for. From what I saw they seem to have a decent little selection of beers both craft and domestic. We went with the evolution red ale on draft which was really tasty. So I would recommend to give it a try just know that it is a little pricey and right now it's a little slow in the service and having the food come out; you should be patient and plan on hanging out for...
Read moreCame for Sunday lunch Started with the BLT classic salad - fresh, perfectly dressed. The bacon was plentiful and perfectly cooked. The tomatoes crisp and fresh. Second course was the 12 oz - 21 day aged ribeye that was fantastic. Price point on it seemed very reasonable for the quality of steak I received, The chef nailed it on temperature and sear and flavor. Excellent steak.
We also had the FireBirds Chicken Pasta , perfect al dente on the penne noodle , chicken was tender and sliced nicely , and the sauce and bacon were a melody of flavors with heat and crunch. The wood smoke flavor especially came through when we ate the leftovers cold, the natural wood smoke was excellent to taste.
Another benefit was the kids menu, I appreciated the fact that they split the meal in two for my daughters , and the options were very healthy. The kids meal was the same quality you would expect of a regular entree and the kids menu had good values and teachable things for kids in addition to fun games.
Our waitress was also very friendly and accommodating.
We finished it off with the chocolate brownie and vanilla ice cream. Love the soft gooey texture of the brownie that melted in your mouth but maintained a slight chew. I look forward to my return visit and wish this...
