Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Store — Restaurant in Ballwin

BALLWIN MANAGER does not like NON-AMERICANS!!

I am a citizen and have been in USA for 25 years, never had to write a review on anyone or business since most were very minor issues. But this one is not acceptable.

There was this loud mouthed Lady Manager at the Ballwin store, forgot to notice her Name. I first had a bad experience with her 6-7 months ago, I don't remember exactly but her reply was so sarcastic and provoking. For some reason I did not have to deal with her next 6 months.

On june 4, 2023 I went there to get milk and my crate was a little dirty since it was on my patio for some time.

I bought only the the milk and did not pay any tips that prompted on the screen since I was just buying the milk not buying any ice cream that they are making. Maybe she did not like me choosing NO TIPS.

Now the MAIN Part There were other returned cartons next to me and I thought anyways they are going to clean those since the bottles returned were not really cleaned. I took one of the cartons, she asked what is wrong with mine I said it was dirty. She says impolitely 'That is your crate you have to clean it, now we have to clean it?'

and very rudely grabs the crate and throws under the desk harshly.

If she said politely I would have taken it back , I was about to take it back but her loudmouth and behavior did not go well with me.

And also there were no customers at that time and that was the reason too. I was walking out without saying anything and she called me NAMES on my back. She used a cuss word..(Oberwise - please check your cameras) At the same time some customers were entering and I did not want to create a scene there.

I did not say a single word.

I was outside thinking to return the crate, but her bad behavior did not let me.

I think she does not like NON-AMERICANS, maybe she has been behaving with them for a while but maybe they did not care or did not have time to complain. I am sure some workers working under may have faced her arrogance.

I don't think she would dare do this to AMERICANS.They would have given her a mouthful.

Oberwise- Businesses struggle to get customer satisfaction, but you don't know what is going on at this level. You may be doing too good , couple of reviews may not affect you and you may not care. Because of some people your reputation goes down, it is a bad choice hiring these people. I will send this to my group and all my community.

I would have given them 5 stars because we love the ice cream, but they have not adjusted their service to 2020, which is a shame. I came here with my two kids and parked right out front. I went in and ordered, while my kids stayed in the car. After I ordered the lady said I had to wait inside the restaurant for our order. I asked if I could wait out by my kids and come back in; she said that was not allowed. I then asked if she could bring it out to the car and she said they only do that if I had called in my order and asked for curbside. By this time I’m nervously looking out at my kids to make sure they are OK, knowing they would wonder why it was taking me so long. Next, I asked if she could delete my order and I would recall it in as curbside. She looked at me like I was crazy and said she already processed the transaction. We love this place, and it’s always been our favorite ice cream spot. Its really sad they haven’t adapted their service...

So I am pregnant and I LOVE peppermint ice cream and no other stores sell it near me. I was really craving some so I went and picked up a quart of it and a cup of it with a brownie. These ladies that were on shift were the absolute sweetest people ever. I don't know what I was thinking, obviously I was not or maybe its the pregnancy brain. I left my bag on top of my car and when I say I got all the way home to realize what I had done the tears were already streaming down my face. I called to let them know what happened and they replaced my order free of charge! When I pulled up I could see the ice cream smeared on the road in front of the plaza. Broke my heart. I'm beyond grateful and I know its just ice cream but its not to me its my FAVORITE ice cream ever. So thank you to the beautiful ladies that were on shift tonight, the assistant manager handled my breakdown with such ease, thank you again and MERRY...
