As someone who doesn't typically write reviews, I couldn't resist sharing my thoughts on Bunny's Buckets & Bubbles. As a Baltimorean, I consider myself fortunate to have a plethora of outstanding dining options in this city. Over the past decade, I've had the pleasure of exploring Baltimore's culinary scene, savoring the offerings of its finest establishments. With the buzz surrounding Bunny's, my expectations were already sky-high, but I must say, I was absolutely blown away. Bunny's has taken deliciousness to an entirely new level, and it would be downright impolite not to give them the recognition they truly deserve. I feel compelled to spread the word.
Bunny's not only delights your taste buds with exceptional food and innovative cocktails but also creates a fantastic atmosphere filled with positive energy and good vibes. It's the kind of place where time seems to stand still, allowing you to fully relish the moment with your friends and family.
Selecting just a few favorites from the incredible menu is a daunting task, but if I had to narrow it down, my top two picks would undoubtedly be the fried chicken. With its perfectly crispy exterior and tender, juicy meat, is a testament to the culinary mastery found at Bunny's. And the Magret duck breast, prepared with impeccable precision, showcases the restaurant's commitment to excellence in every bite. And for a delightful ending, indulging in the heavenly chocolate pie in a jar dessert is an absolute must.
As for the libations, The Smoking Jacket and the Mole Manhattan are two standout choices that will ignite your taste buds with their unique and captivating flavors. And if you're in the mood for some effervescent indulgence, Bunny's boasts a delightful selection of Cava that pairs flawlessly with the vibrant atmosphere and delectable dishes, elevating your dining experience to a celebratory level.
I cannot recommend Bunny's Buckets & Bubbles enough to fellow food enthusiasts and those seeking a memorable dining experience. Whether you're a Baltimorean or a visitor to this vibrant city, make sure to add Bunny's to the top of your must-visit list. Prepare to be amazed by their exceptional cuisine, innovative cocktails, and the infectious positive energy that...
Read moreAmbiance (10/10) - clean cute vibe. The inside gave the vibe of an old school diner but elevated. There are two levels and both knock the esthetic out the park.
Service (10/10) - We had friends in town and made the reservation about two weeks ahead. When we realized they were running behind we pushed the resy back only to discover upon arrival that we pushed it to the wrong date. It was pretty crowded toward the end of brunch on a Sunday and the host was more than accommodating with getting us seated after realizing the error we made. We also can appreciate when it seems like the server has tried everything on the menu to recommend the perfect dishes for your tastebuds and that’s exactly the service we got.
Drinks (10/10) - the cocktails were perfectly crafted and every note described was apparent in the drink.
Food 7.6/10 - We each tried something different so the rating is based off the consensus of the group.
We had:
The cinnamon roll (9/10) - it’s a shareable cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing. Nothing super special about it. It was solid.
Croque Madam (5/10) - pretty underwhelming. It lacked flavor. Pretty boring breakfast sandwich.
Chicken & Waffles (7/10) - the chicken was indeed fried to perfection however the chicken to waffle ratio didn’t seem to be something that would allow you to consume them together because the waffles was thick. If the goal is to eat them separately this may have a different rating but together they didn’t balance each other out.
The Brunch Burger (with an impossible patty) 10/10 - highly recommend. It’s like when the grease of the patty meets the bun with the cheese and toppings it’s a an experience that happens to your tastebuds. I got without the bacon and egg so it was more of a smash burger. I would order this every-time though! And the hash browns that came with the burger were crispy and crunchy but not dry, just what you want from a hash brown!
Fried Chicken Breakfast Taco (7/10) - another underwhelming dish. The chicken was tasty but the flavors combined weren’t anything to make your...
Read moretl; dr I had high hopes for this fried chicken place, but ended up disappointed by the food, including a raw biscuit.
The food: The chicken was crispy and juicy with an herb seasoning, although the seasoning only made it onto part of my chicken, The hot honey miso sauce tasted like mayonnaise, with none of the umami of miso and no heat. (We are not sure if we were given a different sauce than we had ordered.) The gochuchang BBQ sauce was better, but very sweet, tasting like molasses. Gochuchang itself has sugar, so the combination was sweet on sweet. Where this meal really fell flat was the sides. My biscuit was raw in the middle--potentially a health risk, given that raw flour can have salmonella. My spouse's biscuit was underbaked. Coleslaw was flavorless and tasted like raw cabbage. Collard greens were cooked but minimally flavored and could have benefited from a squeeze of fresh lemon juice (or really any other flavor; they mostly tasted like salt).
The service: Speedy and attentive.
The atmosphere: The bathroom is wallpapered with playboy magazine printouts of topless women. I think it was meant to be cutesy (restaurant is named "Bunny's"), but it came off as objectifying. Not kid-friendly.
The value: There are multiple fees. For example, white meat chicken comes with a surcharge. Credit cards also elicit a 2% fee. And of course, any extra sauce will cost several dollars for a small cup. Especially given the poor quality of the food, it was expensive at $30/person (for an entree and non-alcoholic drink, before tax, tip, and credit card fees)
For those with dietary restrictions: The chicken is dredged in rice flour, meaning that it would be gluten-free for anyone requiring that. They have non-alcoholic bubbly, although it is very sweet and tastes more like sparkling apple juice than like champagne. There are few if any options for vegetarians, since even the sides and salads mostly...
