Upon arrival we missed the parking garage entrance. We circled the block twice, so the sign for the garage with the Courtyard logo was a little unnoticeable. It would have been nice to have some type of notification in the email about what type of parking we'd have. The front desk check-in was awesome with Daniel. He had a very good attitude and was extremely helpful and so where the other representatives. The atmosphere was chill and surprising to me, as I haven't been a guest of Courtyard in a very long time. The elevator ride to the 14th floor was pleasant. The walk to our room was somewhat gloomy, with the lighting, and we were disappointed to right at the end of the hallway across from the vending and ice machine. The room was a great temperature upon entering and the view was great. Since this was a birthday & Valentine's Day stay for my husband &I, we had all sorts of activities planed as a surprise for one another. I was shocked by there not being a microwave in the room, but remembered that there was one near the front desk, but was uncomfortable dragging food, especially popcorn and other smelling food from the lobby to the 14th floor. So we skipped the popcorn. I brought a dvd player and we were able to watch movies so I was glad the tv was easily accessible to the side and the back. We did find it somewhat small and we had to lay vertical on the bed due to what I considered poor placement in the room. We had to unplug the fridge to plug in the dvd player as well, so maybe the outlets could be more accessible or something, I commented that I should have brought an extension cord. With so many electronics nowadays, we need as many outlets as possible. We asked on the reservation for extra pillows, however, they were not in the room and when I went to the front desk, everyone was out of sight in the back area. I didn't even bother, I just grabbed some travel pillows from our car. I did get to sit at the Bistro...I was a little disappointed that tit was being cleaned up at 9:47pm, because the setting was so pretty, I do understand that the kitchen closed at 10p,m however, I would have felt unwanted if I had ordered something to eat. The bartender was great and had a pleasant attitude and fixed a great drink. I loved the pantry area with the to go utensils. I've never seen that before. Check out was easy. I think that it would be nice to have the option at check in to either have your bill folded and slid under the door or...
Read moreHotel has the worst amenities I have ever experienced. No lotion, no shower cap, limited towels, tiny one person shampoos, one soap left for sink and tub. First thing I don’t want to do when I check into a hotel is inventory supplies! At checkin I asked but received no written information on the hotel, so expected it to be in the room. It was not. Bathroom sink area was tiny and poorly designed with the faucet placed so far back from the sink that water went everywhere. The toilet barely flushed and the handle needed to be held down the entire flushing cycle. The refill would require removal of tank cover and replacement of flap. There was no mirror over the dresser where the only natural and sufficient light occurs. The bathroom sink mirror area was dimly lit with low wattage yellowish light over a too deep counter to get close enough to the mirror to even apply makeup, shave, or conduct any grooming. I requested a mirror and brighter bathroom lighting but was told they didn’t have this. I had to go to the CVS around the corner and purchase a lighted mirror. The iron did not work correctly and would only stay on for 30 seconds before turning off sputtering water everywhere. Beware I could hear the conversation in the next room distinctively. This room would be fine for one person with limited enough grooming needs to not need to use an adequately lit mirror. For two people it required much accommodation. In addition the room and parking garage key cards required regular reprogramming, and the garage key card never did work for in and out. The attendant had to be summoned. For food there was no room service and late night options were basically vending or two very sketchy low reputation pizza delivery services. No coffee in lobby. The limited hours restaurant with a Starbucks theme was expensive with skimpy, but nicely done breakfast. They also provided a one choice evening snack and bar which I didn’t try. On the positive side most of the front desk staff were helpful and efficient save one. The windows opened a bit letting in fresh air. And the housekeeping staff was friendly...
Read morePositive:Location was very good, staff were friendly & General Manager was friendly and honored preferable checking/out times, but sadly that’s all I can say that’s positive Not sure how this hotel can justify a category 4… feel ripped off and wasted my points when there were other Marriott options; I strongly feel some points should be returned. Hotel needs an update it’s very early 2000’s, bathroom tiles/shower was grimy & needed to use flip flops to shower, no amenities … gym was tiny with broken and missing equipment, no pool, didn’t find out about the deck until I found it myself, couldn’t use the food outlets since over 50 kids took over the entire hotel lobby and made any opportunity to have a drink/breakfast an impossibility, still haven’t received my 500 titanium welcome points/ had to exchange the food voucher because the kids made it impossible to do anything in the hotel. They sprawled across the lobby with their feet and hands on everything jumping around/elevators took forever since the kids used the inky two elevators to play hide even after some complaints…Saturday night guy must have had enough. Was placed across from an ice machine that went off all hours & the noise woke me up several times during the night as door had gaps… kids giggling in hallway playing with the machine. Also, apparently family reunion kids got better rooms than lifetime titanium as some were placed on the higher floors and I was placed on a mid floor across from the loud machine Made several requests for wash cloths and kept getting bath towels, wasn’t told housekeeping was only available upon request (at check-in) left for the day planning that it would be clean upon return, wasn’t told about the 4th floor patio until I found it myself following a bunch of rowdy kids who took over the hotel Friday & satuday, which the Saturday night desk person wanted no part of. Again, can’t justify category 4...
