Chiyo Sushi — Restaurant in Baltimore

Hands down the BEST sushi in Baltimore. Order a different specialty roll each time you go and I guarantee you won't be disappointed by a single one. My personal faves are the Volcano Roll, the YumYum roll which is like a mini Volcano roll and is a bit cheaper than the Volcano. The Sushi Deluxe Platter is absolutely delicious, and is a sashimi platter (patty of rice with a big chunk of fish on top. I get mine without shrimp just to get more delicious fish, and comes w a Cali Roll which you can change for an extra buck or two, totally worth it) The owner and staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Very good at making suggestions depending on what you like or don't like. 20/10 recommend to any Sushi Lover. This is a hidden gem of sushi in Bmore, worth the drive up to Mt Washington. The parking here sucks, and honestly that is the only bad thing I can say about this place. It's not just this restaurant though, parking sucks in this area in general.

Every dish I've tried here has been good, and their service has always been good. They make REAL miso soup here, not the 'just add water' packets you can get in the grocery store. I tried sushi for the first time here and it was very good. They have two floors of tables and a sushi bar. The pricing is on par with other Japanese restaurants in the area (good sushi is always expensive everywhere) and is on par with the flavor and quality of their food and service. I've been eating here for several years (dine-in and carry-out) and I hope to continue for many more.

I am so sad right now. I have now had sushi from here twice. The first time was utterly the best avocado rolls I have ever had. But today, it was just gross. The avocado was all mushy and had black spots throughout it. I could only barely eat about half of my roles, and even then I put some questionable avocado in my mouth. I was so excited after my first experience, when the avocado was so beautifully fresh and perfectly ripe and generously wrapped into the roll, but now I don't know if I can order again. :( For my first experience, I could have given more than five stars.
