This was my first time trying French food in my life. The place was empty when I arrived it was 8:00 PM, and the restaurant closes at 10:00 PM. I thought people around this area are very healthy to the point that they don't eat dinner after 8. The service was great and the place was clean but the food was terrible.I ordered fried calamari, seafood pasta and another order from restaurants week which was 3 courses chilled crab soup, main course was lamb chops and chocolate cake for dessert. The fried calamari was very good, the seafood pasta was very good too except the muscles in the pasta were tasting old and tastes like water tank I think it was very old. The chilled soup was disgusting and the lamb was tasteless. The bill came and it was $95 , it was way too expensive for the food that we received and the portions were not that big. Except the pasta was filled with seafood I have to give them a credit for that. After I finished dinner I found out why the place was empty. Never again.

Best dining in Baltimore, MD. What an incredible experience at the Bistro du Village! The food was succulent and the service excellent. We were a party of four and we started with only two "soupes de poisson" enjoying them between couples with some french bread. Then we shifted to the Chef's crafted entrees: "Entrecote Rib Eye", "Pave de Saumon", "Truite Meuniere", and finally "Merguez Frites" with an additional order of frites (see pictures). All were accompanied by Orangina sodas and perrier water. The food was exceptionally delicious to a point where we cleaned the plates (see pictures). We finally ended our meal with a couple of shared crepes a la nutella et bananes . Thank you Mustapha for your generosity and lovely atmosphere.

This place is a hidden gem. The food is incredible and the prices are reasonable for the quality. For our appetizer, we ordered the escargot. While the presentation left a bit to be desired, the food itself was very good. The bread that comes with it was perfect. For our entrees, we got the Duck Confit and the Crêpe Toulousaine and both were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back.

Had wonderful evening au Bistro. Its authentic French cuisine in a small - but charming - dining room. Duck confit a l'orange was outstanding and flawless, exactly as I'd been looking forward to after requesting it. The Steak frites au poivre with mushrooms were excellent too. For years we made annual roadtrips through France for le Mans, and the best part was finding a small family run rustic bistro in a small French country village. The Bistro du Village is is exactly that. It took me back to those days with a smile on my face. I now get why reviews are polarized: The excellent ones are from those who have loved this place for years; and people who really understand the relaxed nature of a French bistro dining experience. Whereas the lower reviews seem to be from those who perhaps were looking for a more modern American/French or perhaps a quick dining experience. I met the owner and some family members and they are so nice and extremely personable. Now, the staff are few in number. They take pride in doing things the classic French way. But those people seeking 'dinner and a movie' will not appreciate this gem. Its a destination in itself. Take time to enjoy a truly relaxed, fun, authentic French dining experience with great food and great staff! For sure:...

That was insanely bad. Words do not describe the experience I had. I have no idea how they are in business. I can’t believe they argue with guests about 1 hour waits for food. Service was very slow. Our food was cold. Toilet was broken and dirty. Table was next to trash. Server kept bringing us the wrong food. After three hours of bad service I had to walk back to get my own check. Owner was confrontational about the bad service and told me it wasn’t his problem and that there was gratuity which I refused to pay. He said “it’s Valentine’s Day what do you expect”.which is shocking because I expect decent service at the bare minimum for 80$. Nobody knew what they were doing. Nobody checked reservations. Waiter was clearly overwhelmed and didn’t even know how to print checks. the hostess was a fish out of water, seating without letting the server know and just standing with her mouth open. I am embarrassed for them. Ruined Valentine’s Day. This was bizarre and sad. I won’t be back. I want a refund.

I noticed that my review was taken down - if that’s the case, I will contact management to refund me for my time wasted. BEWARE they delete a lot of reviews. They are not...
