7/27/2018 - One night Nice location, beautiful setting, polite staff, comfortable beds, beautiful view from the room’s balcony. BUT: The room we checked in was not particularly clean. The bed sheets were not changed, neither were the pillow covers, nor the blankets. The bed-setting used by previous customers was still in the room, untidy! The carpet was smelly, and there was no face tissues in the room, no clean towels, nor hygiene set (shampoo set, soap & toothpaste). #Attached is the view from our room’s balcony.

The good: It is a beautiful location and an awesome value. Room was clean and nicely appointed with more electrical outlets than any hotel room that I've stayed in recently. Bathroom was very clean. Nice balcony/patio with chairs and table. Room was quiet and no bad smells. The bad: The furnishings are a bit dated, the tv was tiny, and the mattress was sad. I could see the depressions of every guest who stayed here in the past. No kidding. Conclusion: I would definitely stay here again.

Beautifull hotel (we stayed in the Octagon) with very friendly staff. After a long drive, that's just what you need 😊 Worth the extra investment over most of the cheaper options. Hotel is clean, has historical elements, has a fitnesscenter, a sauna, café and breakfast is included most of the times depending on how you book a room. Awesome.

We stayed here for two nights, and honestly we were sad to leave such a wonderful place so early. From the moment we arrived the staff were wonderful - so welcoming, helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean and well equipped. The air conditioning in the rooms was great, which was a necessity due to the hot weather! The beds were a great size, though the mattresses were very soft (though I think in Europe we are used to firmer mattresses). The balcony was lovely and a perfect place to sit. Breakfast was served in the conference centre next door, and there was a good selection of breakfast food. This worked on a card system which had a standard amount, thought there was the option to pay extra if you wanted more food. The amount on the card was perfect for a good breakfast, so we didn't need to pay extra. On the weekend, breakfast was served in the hotel, with a nice selection of pastries and fruits for a decent continental breakfast. The location of the hotel was perfect, very close to Mt Washington Village and the light rail if you wanted to travel into Baltimore city centre. There was a shuttle service that took you down into the village, which was great. As we are able bodied we could walk the short distance into Mt Washington fine. We enjoyed the green, peaceful surroundings and exploring the village. Overall, a very relaxing place to stay, with great facilities, excellent staff and lovely rooms. We would love to stay here again...

The location is great! We are disappointed that our experience was so bad. This was a great location for Loyola University and we were hoping to have spent lots of nights here over the next four years. We checked in to find our room was filthy! Garbage on the balcony and in the closet. The carpets were stained and dirty looking. We then looked closely at the "made beds" and there were coffee stains all over the sheet and at least 10 strands of hair in the bed. We obviously complained and the front desk looked at the room and right away agreed it was never cleaned. We were then moved to another room which was half the size with the carpet still filthy and the tub was gross with stains. When I checked out the next morning I once again stated how we were unhappy and they took our number and said someone would call that day. It is now 11 days later and still never...

Stayed in April for a conference. My room was booked through the conference coordinator. I live in Virginia but did not want to drive back and forth in commuter traffic every day. Conference was from Monday-Friday. I had no issues upon check-in, room was decent, people were pleasant. I checked out and paid my bill. No problem, right? WRONG! When I received my credit card bill, I was billed for an additional night for 'early departure'. Apparently they had me departing on Saturday. However they did not mention this to me upon check-in or check-out! They just billed an extra night on my card and are now refusing to credit it! Very shady business practices. BE AWARE OF YOUR BILL. I will never stay here again, and will spread the word...
