This is nice place, I would give in a high 4.5. The brisket was utterly amazing, best I have ever had. Highly recommend that! It's off the hook good and portion size was generous. Lean, and soft and perfectly smoked and seasoned. Also love the seasoned fries, the beans and they have truly delicious coleslaw. Neither hubby nor I were fans of the pulled pork, it had no smokiness to it, so not much flavor to the meat and tasted like it was cooked in baked beans, or a tomato ketchup base, sort of sweet. Roll was a little hardish. The Cat fish was very tasty and would recommend that as well. Ribs were good. Cabbage and potato salad were fine. Daughter said the cheese cake was good. Their sauces are good, but nothing unusual, supermarket grade. But that Brisket and the coleslaw are truly hit it out of the park good, and we will be back regularly for those. We were huge fans of Woodrow's BBQ, wish they could get their pulled pork to taste like that, or even more on the order of Andy Nelson's as I am a pulled pork fiend. But the brisket was definitely worth the trip, as well the sides. That's the best coleslaw in town. Well done, as nobody in town does good coleslaw. And the fries are yummy and crisp and their seasoning delicious. I am just thrilled that another BBQ place opened up in the location and this will be our new go to place. Just wish they could tweak the pulled port's flavor, as it was way too mild and boring and the hint of tomato ketchup or bean tasting, was strange. It's more like Mission BBQ which I am also not wild about. I did like it's texture, though better than Woodrow's which could be way too fatty. This was very lean and cooked just right. Everything was consistently cooked right which is hard. Glad to have...

Read moreMy husband and I went to Trainstop Smokehouse on 8/3/2025 around 5,6pm.There was no one in the outside eating area or inside when we arrived( we should have taken that as a sign). My husband ordered the food after looking over the menu and decided to go with the pulled chicken platter which was pulled chicken and he chose potato salad and mac and cheese for his 2 sides. We also ordered 2 desserts.(bread pudding & sweet potato cheesecake) Our total was $48.76. We decided to take it home only to find out that the chicken was not pulled, it was cubed. The macaroni noodles were grossly over cooked, and when I started to removed the lid from the potato salad, liquid started pouring out of the container, a huge red flag. I decided to proceed with opening the container only to have more liquid oozing from the container. After the containers lid was removed I stirred the potato salad hoping that the condiments had just settled on top but it was just disappointing and messy. The bread pudding was super sweet and I could taste crystalized sugar in it,. The sweet potato cheesecake was super soft and undone as if it was not fully cooked. This was a total waste of nearly $50, we were thoroughly disappointed. We would have been better off going to Mission BBQ. We could have had 2 meals and 2 desserts for maybe $8...
