Poblano Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Baltimore

The 32nd street location needs translation services and more on-site presence by management/ownership. I've visited twice and have been met with obstacles each time. The first time was for a work order and had to do with tax exemption status that was not honored. The second time was personal, and I'm still mad! I ordered online, not directly through DoorDash but through their partnership. I paid for my food and when I came in the worker was putting it in the bag that was labeled with my name. She went to the fridge to get my drink, which was not available, so she gestured for me to choose a beverage. I did that and returned to the register for the food, which she suddenly did not want to give me. She called the boss and spoke to him entirely in Spanish, gave me the phone and he asked if it was DoorDash. I said I ordered and paid online and my name was on the bag, that I was picking it up for myself. I also told him I had the payment confirmation notification from my bank. He asked me to give the phone back to her, she said a few more words, hung up and then told me, "No," repeatedly. She took the bag out of my hands and placed it behind the counter. I became angry and she used a translation app to tell I shouldn't be mad at her, that she has to do what her bosses tell her to do. I said I understood, apologized for my expression of anger, but said that I had a right to be angry and that I would walk back there to get my food if she did not give it to me. I showed her my ID so she could see that my name matched the name on the receipt, but she said, "No." I had about 15 minutes to get back to work before a meeting, so I went to the window to see if the police were still outside (they were not), and then I decided to walk behind the counter to get my food. She gasped audibly and I said I was sorry to alarm her but there was no way I was leaving without the food I paid for. I expect my picture to be on the wall and to be banned, but I was not wrong in this situation. I am all for immigration and I support a human's right to a mother tongue, but you cannot have an employee alone in a business who cannot communicate with customers. And if a phone call has to be made, the person on the phone has to possess the language skills to resolve the issue. I did nothing wrong, I paid for my food like anyone else but I was treated like a criminal. Now I can never order...

despite multiple friends complaining about the service as well as the food (messy and bland) from this establishment, I return continually because their four dollar side of fried fish is usually really good especially when I ask for it fried hard. today i go in while they are in the midst of moving a new soda machine. Though I wish they would’ve paused the activity for me. I was willing to wait, after 10 minutes. I decided I must go home and figure out dinner, considering the fact that I was already starving before I got there. still craving the fish I ordered on DoorDash, two sides of the fried fish, both of which were exceptionally skimpy and more expensive as compared to when I’ve ordered in person before. but to add insult to injury, the side of corn tortilla stacked with sautéed vegetable that was in my order came plain I don’t need Three tortillas I wanted the vegetables and cheese I was promised (Photos so you know how misled I stand) and anyway, the fish is not even hitting like it’s supposed to, two weak pieces of fish and plain corn tortillas for $20. on principle I will never return to this...

Guess I’m the only one that has a complaint about the food. I have been going here for the past couple of months and never had a problem until tonight. I guess from them about to close the food was old and you could tell by the taste tonight. The chicken was over cooked and the jalapeños and onions were old. I could smell the sourness on my way home but just thought it might had been some food from me door dashing a couple of minutes before.
