Iāve been here a handful of times in the past year and my experience has been subpar each time. I get the impression that the experience is different depending on whether youāre a regular vs someone who drops by once in a while.
Iāve come with pre booked appointments and other times as a walk in. If Iām coming as a walk in, I always ask if they have availability, and they always say they do. However, the experience always feels rushed. They will seat you immediately, but each stage of the nail removal/manicure is protracted as they try to manage you amongst other clients. I also donāt like the fact that my fingers are left soaking in acetone for 10-15 minutes while youāre breathing in the fumes. Other places Iāve been to will use a cotton wool and wrap your nail in foil.
My other issue is how rough they are with the dip manicure removal - several times the tech caught my cuticle with the drill, once causing a small amount of bleeding. I honestly did not even care that she didnāt apologize, but was more irate about the fact that the mistake kept being repeated. I try to warn them beforehand that my cuticles and nails are sensitive but not sure this is being factored in. At one point I did make my irritation known, after which I noticed that my tech and the one sitting next to her started talking in another language and laughing several times. This could have been a total coincidence but left me feeling very awkward.
Overall, Iāve had several disappointing (and painful) experiences here, and sincerely hope they take my feedback onboard and make changes. The space itself is lovely and spacious, and they have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe one star is simply due to the customer service I received. Upon arrival when I was looking at the gel color selections one of the older employees snatched the book from me and told me to choose from the selections from the wall. The lady was also ironically my nail tech during my visit. She did not talk much and I had to remind her several times of my preferences for the services once I began noticing her doing the exact opposite of what I asked. My pedicure was rushed and I noticed there was a lot of polish on the skin surrounding my toes after the appointment was over. I visited with the intention of receiving the pedicure service that was one level up from the basic pedicure service that was offered, but I noticed after the services were complete that the same lady whispered the total before swiping my card. I asked her to clarify the breakdown of the charges and that is when I noticed that she never asked the type of pedicure service I wanted to receive unlike the the other customers and proceeded to charge me for the most expensive pedicure service they offered, which I never agreed to. She also snatched my card and the pen I was using to write on the receipt with while I was in the middle of doing so. I will not be returning, but for those that choose to, please do not let the older employee...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am fairly new to City Spa Nails, but I usually always come in early when they open. I have noticed each time I come in a lady (whoās name I do not know) is waiting for customers and she always seems to be the only one there along with a older lady who seems to be the boss. I am always told to wait, which I didnāt understand why when there was someone who could service me. Once the other employees come in I always handed off to the same guy. He does a decent job with manicures but I personally like him better for pedicures. The lady who serviced me on my last visit also has done my eyebrows and recently done my Mani & Pedi also. She was by far the most sweetest and her service/work was excellent. I think that they should work more on pleasing the customer, & perfecting their work if everyone came with the same attitude and charisma as her this place...
