The atmosphere was an absolute haven for my introverted nature. Though, the sparse table settings and having to ask for a straw and chopsticks enerved me a bit. The servers are very easy on the eyes, and your personal server is very attentive and friendly, or at least mine was. Not to the degree of a cozy diner up in rural Maine, but for a chain restaurant, yes. Though, as an Asian eating at a self-proclaimed "asian-esque" restaurant it was a bit of an experience. The pros: • the utensils are simple designs, nice and sturdy in the hand. The serving platter for the shrimp 主枚 with the soy sauce mini bowl was mini. • The appetizers are pretty in shape, and the texture is perfect. If you like to enjoy the flavor but find mild to be your favorite flavor, you can add that to your list. • They serve tea in 湯飲み and it's a sort of bitter tea, but it pairs well with your food, as it balances it out. • If you ask for your steak to be medium rare, it comes out medium rare: TENDER, JUICY !! PINK in the middle • Had two waiters, one had really cool sleeve tats, and the other looked like Kurtis Conor. Cons: • not 馬本 • wooden asparagus • I didn't get a cute waitress • my sister didn't pick hibachi • They didn't have Boba tea • They use brown rice and not sticky white rice • chili oil not salty, oily, or hot Need to know • Portions are American-ized • Flavor is American-ized •

Read the reviews about this place and thought we'd try it because they were really good. We got there at 5:30 and were quickly seated. (We didn't do the Hibachi side because we had a 7PM movie time and know these places wait until the Hibachi table is full before they start their food process.) We were promptly waited on by Mackenzie, who was very nice and attentive without hovering. We ordered the vegetarian spring rolls to start. They were hot, crispy and delicious! My fiance had the swordfish hibachi dinner and I had the chicken/ribeye combo. Both came with soup and side salad with a delicious ginger dressing. I have never had swordfish before, but I had to try it. It was great! My chicken was cooked perfectly. It was seared nicely and very juicy. My ribeye, medium rare, melted in my mouth. I wasn't a fan of the rice, but that's me. I would have preferred white rice to the side that came with our dinners. We both added some soy sauce to add flavor to it. Bill totaled $60 for both meals, an app and 2 sodas. Not too bad for great food and great service. I wish the table was cleaner. It was sticky here and their as was the drink menu. On our way out about an hour later people were waiting to be seated. We do live 45 minutes from Bangor but we'll be back when we're not pressed for time. Definitely recommend this place.

First time trying Kobe today for lunch. Won't be the last. Very nice atmosphere, clean restaurant. Convenient location near the mall. We ordered hot and cold sake while we perused the extensive menu. The restaurant is divided into the hibachi area and the regular restaurant. We decided to order a few rolls after eating our salad (crunchy with plenty of ginger dressing) and miso soup. We shared the Manhattan roll and Incredible roll and both were beautifully presented and delicious. We'll definitely go back. There were so many rolls to choose from, not to mention several Thai dishes, hand rolls, and sashimi. Everything was fresh and so yummy! So happy that we finally tried Kobe. Highly recommend. Updated 7/10: another great lunch. I'm convinced this is the best sushi in the Bangor area. We enjoyed a Manhattan, Alaskan Beauty, Crazy Ninja, and Incredible rolls. All excellent. Alright here we go, this might be a long one. First off me and my wife are huge Kobe steak house Lovers. I've been to so many that I've lost count. From maine to Florida. Saturday January 15th we went to Kobe with our two friends from Mass that were visiting bar harbor. Had a reservation, waited 20 minutes, got in and sat down on the hibachi in the far left front of the building if you were standing outside in front of the building. Right away we notice that something feels off, we are unusually cold.. As time goes on everyone around us is complaining/joking about how cold it is. Unbelievably cold, you can see your breath as you breathe kind of cold. It was so cold that EVERYONE HAD ON THEIR WINTER COATS AND HATS. I had two jackets on and my winter hat. IT WAS SO COLD THAT OVER HALF THE TABLE went to wait on the warm side of the restaurant by the bar waiting area. They took so long that half of our people at our section left. 6 people! They could'nt handle the cold or the ridiculous wait time.On top of it being FREEZING, we waited over an HOUR for our cook to arrive. With that being said he was AMAZING. He made it all worth while. He received almost $70 in tips which I have never seen a cook get so much from one show. My food which i usually eat all at once was literally so cold by the time the chicken was cooked. Not to mention our bill was over $350 including tips. The poor servers felt our pain and were so kind it makes my eyes water. They tried to do everything possible to please us because they also had to deal with the cold and saw us struggling. Eating outside would not have been much different... the servers and staff say this has been an issue and the kitchen is also cold. What are the owners doing about this issue? If the hood fans are letting thr cold air in then find a way to fix it. I'll tell you that we will never in our lives forget this experience. I remember going to the other side of the building to the bathroom and was absolutely shocked at hiw warm it was in there. I would have ate in there and been happy. And to top it off the hibachi room by the bathroom was a sauna, all the guests had no jackets and were breaking a sweat while eating! It was literally perfect for them in there which makes no sense. I remember the coldest part of my body being my legs. Even after going into the warm car it took almost to bar harbor to feel normal again after freezing for two 2+ hrs. Yes we could of got up and left but we have more respect than that. Service besides our cook taking an hour or more to come out was a 5 star. Estalishment on this day was a zero star. This issue needs to be fixed! And for the non-believers I posted a pic of me...

Very disappointed. There’s no consistency. The first time we came it was okay. The second time we came the food was great. We came back for our third and final time. It was terrible. The food had no taste whatsoever, and my scallops were undercook. Hibachi is not cheap so to be so disappointed in our experience is unacceptable. Two tables had already started their hibachi “show” then our guy came out did our table and was done before the other two chefs, even though he stared after them. He didn’t do the zucchini to catch in your mouth. We got an onion Volcano an egg spin and that was it, the other table was laughing having a good time. They had sale out the squirt bottle. They had a way better experience than we did. The food was beyond bland. I took it home so I could try to bring it back to life and never went back to it because I was so turned off by the food. And I shouldn’t have to recook my food. My husband took his food home too and he always finishes his dinner. It was a waste of $60. Our server was nice but I don’t make it a habit to complain about my food because I’ve heard horror stories of places doing gross things to your replacement meals. So we left with our full take home containers and empty bellies because the food was tasteless and rushed. We love the hibachi experience which is why we chose to dine out but if we knew it was going to be so disappointing we could have just order take out. I was beyond disappointed but I guess that’s the kind of service you get when they don’t have any other competing hibachi restaurants near by. But I refuse to pay $50 for food again and not know if it’s going to taste good or not it should be the same...

I would love to be able to give a five star review, but just cannot. I have been to your restaurant twice within the past four months and both times have been less than satisfactory. The first time , my party was seated at the hibachi ..first one on the right as you enter . Although the chef was entertaining and very friendly..the experience was disappointing. The overhead exhaust that takes the smoke away while cooking was broken. After sitting and waiting for several minutes as the chef went back and forth trying to get it to work, myself and my party were left sitting with eyes burning and coughing from the amt of smoke. The fan was never fixed, nor were we offered a diff hibachi. Instead, we sat and endured the smoke. NOT a very pleasant dining experience..spoke to the hostess and she seemed aloof and offered to take "$7.00" off a bill of 10x that much !

My second visit was just this past Wednesday..March 29th. The chef again was somewhat entertaining, very friendly though..BUT the food was DEFINITELY not up to par! He cooked the rice for barely a minute..it was served under-seasoned an there were cold clumps of white rice on the plates. Filet Mignon was ordered medium doneness and it was rare. Even the vegetables seemed under cooked! The chef appeared to be rushing through the whole process. I was with a party of six and the bill was close to $200! A disappointing experience ...on my daughter's birthday. It truly makes me hesitant to visit again. We did not bother to voice complaints because of the way our complaints were handled on the...
