Country Inn at the Mall — Hotel in Bangor

Had a wonderful stay at the Country Inn when visiting our son at college! Conveniently located near the malls and just close enough to the highway for easy access without the noise of the highway...which we've found to be an issue at other local hotels. 10 minutes from the University of Maine, very friendly staff, complimentary breakfast comparable to higher priced hotels, lovely room...all at an amazingly reasonable price. And when they say "non-smoking"...they mean it! If they discover someone has in fact smoked in one of their rooms they not only clean the offended room from top to bottom in an extensive manner, but any rooms around it that have been affected. I have stayed in hotels that claim to be non-smoking yet reeked of smoke. Not so here. Very pleasant room with view of Bangor and surrounding area we've never seen before...and we were residents here for a few years. Love that the hotel isn't more than two floors high so we could actually open a window if we wanted to. Check in was friendly and easy, checkout even easier. Will recommend this hotel to anyone I know planning a visit...

We were part of a group of 40 seniors on a bus tour going to Canada. The waitstaff came to our bus and took our large luggage to our rooms. The place looked as if it was just refurbished in all respects i.e. carpet, walls, furniture, bathroom, dining room, etc. So, I was astonished to find out it had not been refurbished but, as they so nonchalantly stated, “they just keep it up”. It’s been in business for 35 years so that’s impressive. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate were available 24/7 and someone was always available to answer questions. They also provided us with extra blankets on-demand. All of the staff were customer-friendly and very helpful. Regarding the room, there is a shade hidden behind the curtain threshold that needs to be pulled down at night. I didn’t realize it was there initially. I highly recommend they conspicuously place a sign to notify guests about the shade. If not, at night someone can see into your room esp. at night. Otherwise, this place is a jewel in all respects and I HIGHLY...

I cannot say enough about the country and end its staff! They are top notch. Jess was absolutely amazing and went the extra mile as well as the rest of the staff during my stay. I was staying with a friend who is having cancer treatment in Brewer. We were there for 7 weeks. The staff was so kind and helpful to my friend when I had to leave to work. The ladies that prepared the breakfast we're always ready to help my friend get her breakfast and carry it back to her room. The maintenance and ground keeping staff we're constantly working at keeping it looking so beautiful and clean inside and out. The housekeeping service staff were so friendly and helpful. I will be forever grateful for making a very difficult time so much easier and more bearable for my friend and I. There's no other place in my mind that I would think of staying besides the country and at the mall. God bless each and every one of the staff for their kindness and top-notch service.
