We decided to stop in for a late lunch on or way back to the border. (Originally we were gonna try Chick Fil A, but they’re remodeling.) First time at a Five Guys and though our son doesn’t eat beef, we knew they had fries and honestly, we were just hungry and wanted to get back on the road quickly. We stopped around 1:00 and it looks like we just hit the end of the lunch rush - the place was packed. We grabbed burgers, fries and grilled cheese plus milkshakes and pop. For the number of people/orders, our food came out pretty quick. The milkshakes came out before the food and were really good and thick, but not too thick. The soda fountain was one of those mix your own flavor, which really, who doesn’t love? And free refills, of course - bonus! Snacked on yummy salty peanuts while we waited for our food - wish we’d grabbed some for the road. We ordered one large fry to share amongst us because we didn’t want to load up too much for our big drive, but the joke was on us cause 1) the large is this huge cup of fries PLUS the bag our food came in had more fries than the cup itself (I think they toss an extra full cup into your bag) and 2) the fries were so CRISPY and deliciously salty, we ate tons of them. In fact, we ate so many fries, we couldn’t finish our burgers - and we are NOT dainty eaters. The burgers were really good - it takes like quality ground beef with salt, nothing added or hidden. They were perfectly cooked and they had all the free toppings you want - wow, free toppings including mushrooms and grilled onions - crazy, right? Really good deal. Only thing not above par was the grilled cheese - it was pretty menh. Watched the staff making burgers - they all looked fine to me. Bathrooms were fine too. We were all pleased with our choice and stuffed to the gills when we hit the road again - in fact, when we got home seven hours later, we still...
Read moreFive guys is my personal choice for a regular burger. I'm not always thrilled that they cook the burger well done, but I have to admit, they are always juicy and they have a knack for putting them together, even when you pile on the toppings. I change out what burger I get sometimes, depending on where I intend to eat it as in "on the fly" or in the restaurant. My go to burger is a small cheeseburger with mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomato and fresh, instead of fried, onions. Never fails to make my taste buds happy. The staff in our local Five Guys are a great bunch of people though the restaurant can become busy and noisy. I wanted to eat there the first week they opened but it was always so crowded. New places in an area can be like that. I feel the prices are comparable to fast food Mickey D's, Burger King and even Wendy's, but the quality of the food is much higher, in my opinion. You have to consider they have no "cheap" menu . . . and their burger certainly should be compared to the other eateries premium burgers . . . as far as taste goes . . . no contest. I'd say it's worth it for you to try Five Guys . . . I don't think you'll be...
Read moreOk I'll admit, there's a menu on the top obviously visible . What toppings you can get on your burger, no preset selections. So when I was asked by the cashier what I wanted on it I just named off the usual. Then sat down and waited. When we got our order. I saw someone else in our group had pickles and other stuff. I was confused. Then they pointed out it clearly states what you can get on the menu, and I missed it. Ugh to me. But next time I go I'll definitely look closer. My fault completely. The burgers were AMAZING!! The fries very good. I'm not a fry person and I still snuck a few from someone else. Very good. The soda machine, was absolutely mind blowing sub menus upon menus, so many options to choose from. The store was clean and staff friendly, almost a theme restaurant. If they had a few more decorations like some 50's memorabilia or something I swear I'd think of 50's theme or some other genera as it stands, I'm not sure what theme it is, it's like a unthemed theme restaurant. But very good. Overall I'll definitely be going back someday. And next time I'll read the menu options and create the perfect...
