Supper at Guy’s Italian Restaurant was as expected. The flavor array was truly Italian and laced nicely with garlic. The Italian bread was moderately saturated with garlic infused butter making it almost irresistible. My entree choice was baked lasagne, again, instead of selecting one of the other senior offerings. I wanted to get a good look at the components of that tasty dish. Clearly the ricotta was mixed with egg which provided substance. Mozzarella was generously present throughout that multi-layered treat.
The assigned wait-person displayed brilliant ink on most of her exposed skin. That woman is a very personable individual and she made us feel most welcome. She works only during Guy’s open-to-the-public hours from 4:00 p.m. ‘til 8:00 p.m. but I’m pretty sure she is able to knock down a hefty daily take in gratuities. We will return to Guy’s, but maybe in early May. Cleaning the garlic from the inside surfaces of my mouth took extra effort.

A few weeks ago I reviewed Guys Italian Restaurant with a well deserved five star award. This review focuses on our take-out order of two small pizzas. From time-to-time we bake a machine-packaged frozen pizza and the two of us are adequately satisfied with that fare. However, after a hard day’s work this week we opted to order pizzas from Guy’s place. The two flat boxes presented by the bartender lacked character, and I was a bit disappointed with the tab. I’m not sure why I expected more. I’m the one who ordered take-out. When I opened those two containers my attitude changed, and Guy’s stock was kicked up a couple of notches. The boxes had retained the oven heat, and the aroma released upon my raising of the cardboard lids stimulated spontaneous and involuntary salivation. The flavor experience I enjoyed from my pizza was beyond what a normal person could expect. The quality of Guy’s pizza is far greater than other IE pies. The value of the product...
Read moreTonight I ordered a pizza and a salad to go. I am not from the area but wanted to take dinner to my dad who just had knee surgery. I got there to pick up the dinner and was given a bill for 39.93. I gave the kid behind the counter my card and waited for my receipt. I noticed it was taking awhile and was wondering what was going on. As I went to look at my phone to make sure funds were ok the kid brought my receipt to sign as I got a message from my bank. First let me explain that the receipt that was given to me to sign was for 39.39 and my bank had just sent me a fraud alert for 393.93. I asked the kid what happened and then decided to take the other receipt that was under the one he gave me and tell me that he made a mistake and voided it out. This is not a little mistake and I was completely upset with the fact that if I had not noticed this he would not have told me as he hid it under the correct one. Not only did this upset me but as I am asking him what happened and listening to him tell me his mistake a lady at the bar, I am assuming she is a manager or someone that works there was listening and asked me if he voided it out. I looked at her and said yes, and she then said, “well it will be back on your account in a couple of days not worries” first of all as a manager or owner or just an over all human being who works in a business where customer service needs to be number one, your comment should have been IM SORRY and what can we do to make this better. Sitting there and acting like it wasn’t a big deal floored me to no end. I am not a single mom but what if I was, what if that 393.00 was all I had till next pay period? I’m sorry that asking and making sure that you could do whatever you could to help rectify the situation was not high on your list of important things to do. I sure hope for your sake that the money is back on my acct Monday. Oh and I can’t even comment on the food as the service...
Read moreThe service was HORRENDOUS!
My friend and I waited 20 minutes on a table before anyone came to ask what we wanted for drink.
When the waitress finally took our menu, she deliberately acted as though she did not hear my question, so I asked again in which she rudely and tersely replied. On top of that, she wore classless t-shirt with r-rated phrases.
When we got our food, we asked for more napkins and parmesan cheese, which the waitress confirmed but never fulfilled.
While we were dining, we saw the waitstaffs and even the gentleman who seemed like the owner (bald and short) being attentive to the other tables but never once came asked if everything was okay. They even cracked jokes at the customers and asked many times if they needed anything else.
When I asked for check and gave my card, the waitress took another 20 minutes. She held my card, went to the table next to ours and said, "Oh~ we charged you his (pointing fingers at me) amount, but it is less so... good for you!". I wasted yet another 5 minutes when she should have given my card back and talk to the people she wanted to.
Maybe a coincidence but the tables these people were attentive to were all of white people. The disgruntled tables were all by the colored people.
Also, the parking lot is terrible, with pebbles and waters. People parked horribly and did not utilize the space efficiently.
Overall, utterly horrendous service. Waitstaffs were so rude, I will never come back to this restaurant again, nor will I ever recommend this...
