What happened to Pizza Ranch Baraboo?!? I heard the former manager retired, but apparently everyone and everything else retired, too! This used to be THE BEST Pizza Ranch in Southern Wisconsin. We went tonight (on Homecoming dance night) and there was little to no food to be had. One soda machine is still out of order. The little pizza that there was to be had on the buffet was obviously sitting there for a while. There were flies bouncing around everywhere, and people were shooing them away from the food. The chicken was skimpy and overcooked. I took the last of the French fries, the guy in front of me took the last biscuit, and when I went back 20 minutes later, neither had been refreshed. The same pizza that was there when we walked in was still there. We started waiting for things to get refreshed. The restaurant had several homecoming dance attendees come in, and they were waiting for food. At 7pm, my husband and I finally decided to leave, because there were only 3 pizza slices on the buffet (same slices that were there when we walked in an hour before) and an employee was cleaning the empty buffet table. (I will say depite the flies, the place was clean.) We assumed they were closing. There were no hours posted on the door, but were surprised when we came to leave this review that they are supposed to be open until 8:30pm?!? I don't know what the new management is trying to do...save on food waste by not putting anything out at all? Hoping people will spend more money in the new arcade if they don't refill the buffet??? Whatever is happening, it is BAD, and as locals, we will not be going back. We left hungry. And the restaurant was full of people, with over half of the tables being occupied. I am assuming they were going to leave hungry, too. Not worth the money, at all. I understand there is a new Pizza Ranch under construction in Reedsburg. We will check that one...
Read moreI was going to just not say anything more but since you sent me this email I am going to tell you like it is. I was going to "Yelp" you but I have dinned here before and hoped this was a one time situation. The food is always good and the service even better. After my meal I went to the men's room to wash up as my hands were to messy to drive, I was extremely disappointed to see the soap container did not release the soap as it supposed to so I could not wash up. There was a small bottle of something on the counter that I thought was the temporary soap so I just used that. It turned out to be some kind of chemical for de-odorizing that was condensed and so strong smelling it took the remainder of the day to get ride of the strong pine smell off. You could see soap in the little window of the actual hand soap dispenser but it would not come out no matter what you'd do and I've used it many times before so it was not me. Well as I'm drying my hands I'm thinking "I wonder if the cooks and food preparers have a separate wash room" so upon leaving I asked the question to the cashier lady and asked if the male food handlers use the same bathroom I did which she explained as "yes there's only the one men's room". So I told her what happened, she quickly said how sorry she was and that she would get someone in the to fill it and see why that chemical was out there too. I expressed my dissatisfaction and concern for everyone's health concerns with this and noticed another guest coming in so I stopped and said good buy, never did I ask compensation all I wanted to do was see results. As the next guests arrived she just went on to check them in as normal and I walked out. This was something she should have done right then and there before anymore people were exposed to this not when she had a...
Read moreMy 10 friends and I were looking for a place to eat. I recommended Baraboo pizza ranch because I had good experience there as a teenager.
Unfortunately I have developed a food intolerance since then so I had called to see what options there were for me.
The employee I talked to on the phone was really sweet and kind.
Unfortunately management did not train their employees well. I was misinformed about the menu.
I was told that I didn’t have any options for me. Consequently I told my friends I’d meet them there and bring in food from somewhere else.
I brought in my unopened freshly cooked culvers bags to pizza ranch and was told I could either eat in my car or sit with my friends while they ate and just looked on hungerly. They said they had gluten/dairy free options. Something I was told they didn’t have over the phone. The older lady employee that was serving me was very rude. The lady I had talked with on the phone was really sweet and nice so I do not fault her in the least and even when I was they she was very sympathetic.
I explained my situation and that I was misinformed.
Since I was not happy with what the older lady employee told me, she got the manager. The management told me that I should have asked for a manager when I called and continued to tell me I couldn’t eat my Culvers in here.
I told them that I should not have to pay then because it wasn’t my fault I was misinformed.
They told me I could eat from the salad bar only which of course that is the only thing I can eat there because of my intolerance.
I was very unhappy with the rude manner of the manager and the older lady employee.
Consequently I don’t recommend this place if you have a food intolerance. I also don’t recommend it because of the lack of training and rude manner of some management...
