Family Barbecue — Restaurant in Bardstown

I want to start of by saying, ive never left a review on anything in my entire life, I usually let things go and move on, but I just can't in this case. I wish I could make these things up, but if you know what real BBQ is, this is definitely not it. Wings and ribs are claimed to be smoked, but that definitely is not the case. Zero smoke flavor, non-existent smoke ring, and zero color. Where's the smoker even at? Baked beans are just buschs with a whole lot of pepper, and im not even kidding, but their potato salad is Walmart brand, I know this because I keep it in my refrigerator. They also forgot my banana pudding, and when got back to adress it, the lady looked at me like she thought I was lying. Wish I could say that was good, but it was also from a box and no effort put into making it. Nothing here is "home-made", all straight from the box, or can. I'm not a BBQ smoking champion by any means, but me and my little smoker puts this "BBQ" to shame. I honestly don't understand the 5-star reviews, those people must think putting BBQ sauce on a piece of meat, makes it "BBQ", and based on their profiles, they don't have a clue what real BBQ taste like. There's a reason their previous BBQ restaurant, South End BBQ, didn't last. Only good part about my experience was chatting with the bartender, Chris, very nice gentleman. Don't let the changed name fool you, take your hard earned money to a real BBQ joint like Bootleg. Last time I waste 40 dollars on some over-baked meat with sauce...

Thoroughly enjoyed this place. Simplistic with great food and service. Their catfish is some of the best in town, and their "Bardstown Salad" (salad with your choice of meat) is all you can handle, I barely finished it. Liked the food so much, we decided to pickup some family meals for a graduation party the following week. We orders 2 family meals, one with pulled chicken, baked beans, and coleslaw; the other pulled pork with green beans, and potato salad. I picked both meals up and ran home, Wifey said "where's the buns and toppings that are supposed to come with it?" Hell I don't know, I didn't check it before I left the restaurant. I called up there and within 15 minutes, they delivered the missing buns and toppings....come on! That's service! I too heard mixed reviews about this place before trying, but everyone has their own opinions on taste. I've also seen other reviews with several blurry photos and a 3-star rating for the food with no explanation. I'm here to tell you that I haven't been disappointed yet. Try it for yourself and if you want to leave a review, try explaining your ratings. Food is great, service is great, atmosphere could use a little uplift, maybe throw...

My first time eating here and I enjoyed my experience. The food price is on par with other BBQ places. They gave me a generouse portion, and they offered a few different sauces.

The Sandwich is great, I really enjoyed it. The MacN'Cheese was rich and creamy, reminded me of the kind mom would make with velveta cheese. The mash potatoes where homemade with lumps and all, the way I like it, but some may prefer just creamy.

I plan on going back to try the Brisket and will update with a review on that.

Service was fast, I barely sat down and had food out to me in no time, but they weren't busy yet, they started picking up steam as I was leaving. I don't think many people know about this place yet, when I talk to people about it at work no one knew it even existed. It's in a rather poor non noticable location unless you visit tractor supply it's going to get overlooked. I hope the word gets out because I love supporting local, especially when the food and...
