Staples — Local services in Barnstable

Went to Hyannis Staples while out on the Cape. I wanted a better office chair and thankfully Staples has vastly improved their selection in office chairs over the past few years. After carefully testing a number of chairs I selected one. They only had the floor models. At ~$400 I'm not buying a floor model chair. The manager suggested they could order one, but I knew I was only there for a few days more, so I declined at first. He checked the Staples system and it assured him I would receive the chair the following day! Perfect! I re-iterated that if it came the next business day (Monday) it would do no good as I was not going to be there. The manager again re-iterated that the chair should arrive the following day (Friday). Thursday evening the email arrived confirming the order and it said "chair will arrive Monday." ()*&%^! So I called Staples Friday morning and requested a change of delivery address to my other place. The phone support person was very amiable and attached a high priority note to the order. Which did absolutely no good. The chair was still delivered after I left the Cape. Calling back to Staples today to request a pick and re-delivery, they could not pick it up for another 2 weeks. I doubt the chair would even BE there in two weeks and even if it was, weather etc would probably ruin it. I managed to get a friend to get the chair but the whole thing was a mess. I would not have ordered the chair at all if I had known at the store it was not going to arrive as promised on that following day. As nice as everyone at Staples was it was still a screw-up. An absolute waste of time. The two men who run the Printing/Copying section take their sweet time. It can take up to 30 minutes to make 2 lousy copies. Every customer is walking around clueless & it's NOT their faults...it's Staples inadequate & utterly catastrophic design/setup. I found it simpler at CVS . The rest of the staff are completely useless , as I was looking to buy a computer (to which they had a stellar selection , FAR better than Best Buy, but smaller ) YET.. the staff never approached me & had me waiting (after asking for help) for ANOTHER half hour....so I gave up. This is my 5th & LAST time at Staples. I'm better served to buy my own printer & laminating machine to save time & money. I'd hate to see Staples die off ,but with service like this... GOOD RIDDANCE !!! DO NOT GO THERE..FIND ANOTHER PLACE OR DO IT YOURSELF !!! P.S. STAPLES needs to raise their wages & hold their employees accountable , or they can kiss their dying...

On two separate recent occasions, we used the print center to print some posters for an important convention. The first time our posters came out flawless and we were so happy with our posters. On the second, there was some technical issue/bug with our printing and the print team at Hyannis worked patiently with us to fix the problem and deliver beautiful posters and print materials on time so we did not miss our deadline. It looked like they were servicing so many customers with little people but we were so impressed by how they managed all customers, including us, with politeness, courtesy and commitment to delivering quality work. This is one of the best offices for printing needs on Cape Cod and we will be back. Great crew - we...
