Trader Ed's — Restaurant in Barnstable

I've never written a public bad review on a place this is going to be the first. Outdoor bar around the pool was cash only inside bar they took credit card. Went at the inside bar waited for 30 minutes for 1 beer. They had 2 bartenders serving over a 100 people. Got my drink gave the guy my credit card then he never closed me out. Had to ask if he could please close me out by this time it's been 45 minutes. He said read the sign, there was a tiny sign were the tvs were that said 50$ minimum. Not even going into the bar did it say that or the bartenders say that when you order a drink. I was trying to be nice and then said i could just pay cash. Both bartenders were the worst! Super rude and not willing to do anything. Then the other 3 waitresses who were serving to people outside started chiming in and being rude. Finally one of the waitresses helped me out there. When to go talk to the owner he was on stage then he said wait a minute. Place closes down 10 minutes later owner leaves i'm walking out he's on his golf cart. I say hey can i talk to you for a second. He said not really it's 1am. So i left just thinking really? This guy the owner wouldn't even talk to a customer that had a big issue. Terrible moral here! I've never said this about a bar because of the staff and the owner but would never go...

I read some reviews before going. Some were good, some were bad. So figured I'd give it a shot and see for myself.

I waited 20 minutes before my server even came to my table. Another server asked if someone helped me yet and I said no so they said they would go get them. When my server came I asked for a water and a food menu. I had the food menu for 15 minutes before they came back to my table to take my order. It was just under 1 hour from the time I sat down till the time I got my food (a chicken sandwich). Most of the tables (about 75%) were only drinking, no food. I was surprised at how bad the service I received was. The table behind me, who had a different server, had someone way more attentive to them.

I am not sure when they stop selling food (on a Sunday) but a table near me tried to order food around 6:30/6:40 p.m. and were told they couldn't but food was still coming out to other tables. They also asked for milk (not sure if it was for coffee or straight cup of milk) but they were told the kitchen ran out of milk and does not have any more. We both thought that was weird. It was a smashing time my cousin brought me to meet a friend of the family who is family by association of our cousin the ambiance of the place at the marina was rather smashing I constantly kept looking at the ray of sun of the water. The folks seeving the food were excellent and the food was terrific I had a lobster roll with bacon, for my side I got the potato salad I added mustard to mine. Definitely enjoyed that lobstah as I call it immensely. There was a nice touch toward the end there was a band called rip tide and lead singer and drummer had fantastic voices the music selection they sang was awesome and they did a fireball whiskey giveaway and mcguillany items too. We had plenty of pina coladas and they gave away fireball whiskey shots and vodka shots tasted like peppermint schnapps to me. Mr. Willie, my cousin Sharron and I enjoyed each other company immensely and a good time had by all the pool was excellent touch and to watch the steamboats go out was excellent.
