Where do I begin with Bluewater Grille? I just stopped in after shooting a wedding at a local “high quality” country club. Like, this venue was so “high quality” I had to show my ID at the gate and at one point I thought they were going to turn the hounds on me. So, you’d think dinner in a place like this country club would be really good. But you’d be WRONG, and when the wedding was over, I was starving. ANYHOO, after the wedding, I dumped my gear off in my hotel room and headed out for some chow. Bluewater Grille was right next door—as it turned out, the joint had only been open 2-3 days. Based on the expert recommendation of the expert bartender, I got the fish tacos, which were unlike anything I’ve ever had in the fish taco oeuvre—firm fish, blackened, spicy. I felt like I was back in Cabo San Lucas, only if Cabo had been settled by Cajun chefs instead of soldiers in trucks, dudes trying to sell you blankets on the beach, and drunk frat boys. The tacos were good is what I’m saying. I paired them with an Absolut martini made the way I like it (two olives, a little dirty), which the bartender shook to perfection. Ever had a martini that gives you that I-just-had-a-vodka-martini glow without the feeling that you just drank paint thinner? Me either, but this one went down smooth as Sammy Davis Jr. at The Sands. On the night in question, the Bluewater Grille wasn’t packed yet, but it’s only May and The Crowd has not yet descended on Hyannis like so many sunburned, free-spending tribbles. So whether you’re a local or just passing through, get down to Bluewater Grille and see what you’ve been missing. It will exceed your expectations. It exceeded mine. So to review, how great is Bluewater Grille? It’s like I wanted to book a flight to L.A., and Bluewater Grille sent me an F-15C. It’s like my city league basketball team needed some rebounding/enforcement, and Bluewater Grille was 1978 Moses Malone. It’s like I wanted someone to make sure no one messed with my house while I was on vacation, and Bluewater Grille was SEAL Team Six. That’s what I mean. It’s great. Really great. TL;DR, 10/10, will...
Read moreWe came down to visit with friends and had a fabulous time at Bluewater Grille! It was a stormy rainy night and sitting under the tent was great! The staff were welcoming and friendly and made the best of the weather. The dining room is beautiful, warm wood and yellow sailcloth.. very fun. We had drinks at the bar with Chris, and he was great. We tried the buffalo tenders and the clam chowder, both delicious. We came back the next day for lunch! My husband had the mahi tacos, and I had the swordfish picatta.. the coconut rice was AMAZING! I would highly recommend Bluewater Grille for a fun night, live music and a warm and friendly staff, can’t wait...
Read moreFood was fine, our server was very friendly, atmosphere was good. There is something to be aware of though. We went with a party of 6 and were splitting the bill. When they gave us the receipts we noticed both of us were billed for a "large party fee" of 20%. When we looked at party size it said 9 people. We challenged them saying there were only 6 of us and they said it doesn't matter and that their large party fee is 6 or more. Just something to be aware of when you go. Would have been nice if they gave a heads up about it before surprising you with an additional 20% on your bill and still expect a tip on top of that for...
