If you have young children, you may want to reconsider going to another local brewery. Their "policy", according to staff members, is that they must remain seated with an adult at all times. However, it only states online that children must be accompanied by an adult. NOWHERE does it say on the website that they must be seated "at all times". They have a whimsical little sign above the bathrooms (Barrington location) that says they must be seated with an adult, no kid tables. These contradict one another. I understand that some people let their kids just run around and that can be a disturbance to other patrons, but you cannot expect children to just stay seated at a table for long periods of time. It's not realistic. I was told, after almost 3 hours of already being there, that my children needed to be seated with an adult at all times. When my children were not seated at the table, they were playing nicely on the side patio, not in anyone's way, and always had an adult with them or watching them from the table which was right next to the patio. They were NEVER running around inside. The staff gave us a hard time when I challenged them on what the policy says online. They had zero backbone. Just gave attitude and were unprofessional. When we said that dogs were allowed, the staff member said, "Are your kids on a leash"? I nearly lost it. If there is a real issue with them having children there, then it may be best to make this a 21 and older establishment. My husband, children, and friends have been to countless local breweries and wineries and have never encountered this issue. They have all been very inclusive. Tonewood does not share that same sentiment. Huge disappointment. It's a shame because their beer is really...

Read moreTonewood brewery in Barrington is the second and largest location of the Tonewood brewery that originally started with the first location in Oaklyn NJ. Formerly location was a lumber yard warehouse where they sold expensive essences of fine wood such as walnut, cherrywood, mahogany, oakwood and such for builders and craftsman or carpenter that took expensive orders for cabinetry, furniture, real wood board for flooring etc, hence Tonewood came out with one lager beer called Lumber Yard. The place is huge and pretty busy, cute thing is that dogs are allowed in. Stopped there last night and enjoyed beers and chatted with friends and family. Had Mas Fuego, Freshies, Mosaic IPA, Stratacaster to mention a few and these were very tasty and flavorful just as the others I'll try next that my buddies had. Well stop by and enjoy some awesome beers on the tap, and also you can bring your own food...
