Oggi's Sports Brewhouse Pizza — Restaurant in Barstow

2.5 STARS!! That’s it!!! I haven’t seen my dad in over 16 months and by the seemingly decent reviews it seemed like this could be a nice chill place to eat and catch up on Sunday afternoon while he was in Barstow, so I drove up from San Bernardino. Close to 4 in the afternoon it wasn’t very busy which worked for us. The day waitress and the first little bit we were there is the very main reason this is getting the 2.5 star review from me. She was super sweet and took good care of us. If we had arrived an hour later than we did it probably would have been only one star review!!! A change of shift took place while we were there and we totaled the drinks and appetizers out with the day waitress so that we could tip her (which we tipped at least 50%) with the understanding that we would start a new ticket with our entrees and the new server. The new server had charge of maybe 3 tables and she seemed to be nice and ok with my pops and I just chatting and catching up. However, after about 15 mins on her own she started getting really pushy about getting us to order our entrees even though we still had appetizers in front of us. We relented and ordered but she came back and said they were out of what I wanted and I had to adjust my order. A bit later she brought only pop’s order out which he would not touch until I had mine as well (which mine arrived about 13 mins later after his had gone cold). Then, With still full plates (only 1 piece of my pizza gone) the waitress started getting pushy about getting our desert or the check! She still only had may 3 tables and at most 9 people in total. The place was pretty much empty except for a couple additional tables that weren’t hers and the bar had several people, also not hers!! By that point I was just done! The food was cold and bland and we had a pushy server!! We boxed up our mostly un-eaten dinner and just went somewhere else. Both checks together easily totaled close to $100. To top it off both of us started getting sick stomachs a very short time after leaving there! Pops and I both decided we will not be going back here the next time he has business in this part of CA. I’ve left the exact same review for Yelp as well in hopes that the management sees one of them eventually. So check it out everybody, we were camping in Barstow and we decided to stay a couple extra nights, so we kind of ran out of food so we drove into Barstow and ordered a pizza from this particular brewhouse. The service was awesome, the girl at the front counter was super nice and I think I tipped her like 30%. The atmosphere was really good, I think it was a Thursday, and everybody was watching football. For the most part, everyone looked like they were having a good time and that they were enjoying their meal.

We ended up taking our food to go, and when we got back to our campsite, the garlic knots were horrible and the pizza was just not very good. Now I will tell you it did take us about 10 minutes to get back to our campsite, we were off of Hodge Road, about 3 miles away, one of my kids actually said I don’t think they gave us the right knots because I don’t even taste the garlic. The pizza was very blah and a family of four did not even finish half of the large pizza the next day nobody wanted leftovers. We ended up throwing it away.

I’m writing a five star review because everything about this place was great except for the quality of the food and maybe we simply were there on an off night and I would hate to smear this business with a bad review so if you end up reading this entire review Make sure you know that our experience with this place unfortunately was not good, but I think that normally this place is a good stop for both the locals and for people on the way to and from Las Vegas that want to sit down and have some pizza.

Sooo we keep trying to give this place more chances because we love the food. The food is amazing, like there is no doubt about it, you can get anything, and it amazing. The problem is the service. Everytime we come here we have the ABSOLUTE WORSE SERVICE. We never get our drinks refill, i always have to go up to the bar and ask for my check and pay for it right then and there; because if I don't, we will be waiting 20-30 minutes for a check and another 20-30 minutes to get my card back. And unfortunately, I'm not exaggerating, this has happen to us before. And i find it ridiculous, that this keep happening, this has happen three times already! Your food is amazing, but please fix the service. I would love to come here more often, but I seriously do not have the patience for your waitresses. My first time coming here, I recall our waitress looking at me in the eye while I nicely try to get her attention, and she straight up ignored me, even when she clearly saw me. Another time, I had my in laws visiting, and my grandpa waited 20-30 minutes for his drink, not to mention he never got his refill. Also, I had to (again) find someone to pay my check, etc. This last time, our waitress only came to our table ONCE and that was just to order our food/drinks. Which by the way I never recieved my appetizer 😭 (which i love the oggi sticks, i was looking forward to it and NEVER GOT IT) and we only got refills once (and it was toward the end and not even our waitress) and again I had to go to the bar, ask for my check and pay for it right then and there.
